Articles pertaining to the Myth series of RTS games.

Myth: The Fallen Lords (also referred to just as "Myth" or "Myth I";
Myth II: Soulblighter

Both of the above games were developed and published by Bungie Software for the Macintosh and Windows platforms. Rights to the franchise were transferred to Take Two in the buyout of Bungie by Microsoft.

A third game, utilizing a new 3-d engine, was developed by Mumbo Jumbo:

Myth III: The Wolf Age

VersionTracker recently noted the release of version 2.2r2b of OpenPlay, a cross platform networking library originally designed for multiplayer games.

Why is that of interest to Bungie fans? Because Bungie was actually the original user and co-developer of OpenPlay with Apple, which at the time was called Uber-- the foundation of the cross-platform networking used in the award-winning Myth RTS games.

Gholsbane over at MBO notes that November 7 marked the 7th anniversary of the release of Myth: The Fallen Lords, released in 1997. All the players who still have the game on their hard drive-- and we know you're out there-- head to PlayMyth or marius.net and get in a game to commemorate.
