Louis Wu at HBO noticed two articles, one at Inside Mac Games, and the other at MacGamer, placing the ship date of Mac Halo as December 3. Both quote an official press release from MacSoft, publishers of Halo on the Mac platform. Both mention a reference in that to resolutions of "1600 x 1200" pixels and "beyond".
Steve at Forerunners.org wrote to let us know that Forerunners.org was not "down for repairs" as we wrote earlier, but was down in order to be moved from one server to another.
Two more PC Halo reviews today from Blue's News: LoadedInc and DeadAlfs. DeadAlfs (DeadAlves?) bemoaned the lack of co-op support (and invoked the all-to-common by now comparison to Serious Sam), giving the game an 8 out of 10 overall score.
Doobie at Marius.net writes that due to some server issues, they've had to change IP addresses. Because of that, the EEL file for Myth 2 that you need in your Myth II folder for Marius.net connectivity to work under version 1.4.x no longer works, because the old IP address is hard-coded into it.
Brian at Halo.ibonk.com writes that they've named three new moderators to help out with the site: Shaft, BradLee and Alx. Everybody drop by and say hello.
In the last couple of days, two Halo sites: Forerunners.org and Break Point Halo, have both had to go down for repairs and have come back up. Everyone applaud.
OK, normally we don't go around willy-nilly pointing at people's petitions. But this one is politely worded, and is a reasonable, and I would imagine not too onerous, feature to request. Gary Williams has put up a request to add a logging feature to the Halo Dedicated Server and the PC Halo client, to aid in creating statistical analyses for player ratings and ladders, as well as other things. If you think it's worthwhile, why not take a look.
SketchFactor writes at Bungie.net that they're holding a Halo-Ween pumpkin carving contest; carve up a Halo-themed pumpkin, take a photo of it, and email it to feedback@bungie.com before October 31, 2003. The reviewer for 3DAvenue liked Halo pretty well. They gave it an 87 rating, and said it "defines FPS action."
HaloMods sends word of an Xbox Halo mod called Banshee Wars by Iron Forge; the original Banshee has been turned into a bomber, and a second type of Banshee, a Jet, has been added. Several weapons have been modified to fire homing projectiles.
