The Junkyard is Back Up
Mhaddy writes in to let us know that The Junkyard has returned to life on the Net. tJY provides coverage for a number of games, including Halo, Tribes, Tribes 2, Axis and Starsiege. They're promising to display some unique content each day for the next two weeks, in what they call the Junk-a-thon .
"Hvergelmir, Creation Map Released"
If you're a Creation fan, then you're in luck because they've released a new two-team map for the Tournament of Blood. The large, colorful map separates teams by a flowing river and a wall. You'll also get to play with a new unit from the upcoming The Seventh God scenario, the Warrior of Thell. Similar to the standard Warrior, he blocks opponents, but this time he can block arrows, too.
XBox Goes... Gold
According to Shack News, the XBox has gone gold. When a product has gone gold, or gold master, that means that the software is in its final form and is ready to be sent for mass printing. So how can the XBox go gold then? We don't know, but that's how they're reporting it. If you've got the RealPlayer plugin, you can watch a video at Yahoo! that was posted a short while ago on the announcement.
GameSpot Previews HALO
The folks at GameSpot have put a HALO preview together that details its history, gameplay, and other facts that have been floating around for some time. They call HALO the most anticipated game for the XBox and go on to say that it seems leagues beyond its competition, and its graphical polish, even at this early point, is very enviable. In regards to multiplayer, they had this to say:
Daily Radar Drops Off The Scopes
The latest in the list of dot.casualties includes the gaming site The Daily Radar. Where the site used to appear is now a top ten list of reasons why they've had to shut down. Without spoiling the surprises, we'll just say that reason #4 is:
Your mom.
And that's about as close to a Bungie connection as I can make. Those who liked the site will no doubt mourn its passing. Those who didn't, won't.
