Freewill came to our forum on little cat feet, informing all that the latest issue of Next Generation magazine has a very read-worthy Halo article. Scans of the feature are available in myriad resolutions and file sizes from Free's Bungie Sightings page.
We've gotten burned a bit by polls because of some members' uh, exceeding enthusiasm *wink-wink* but perhaps it's time to own another poll? Here's an easy one for us to start with. GameSpot asks: Which Xbox game do you want to see on the PC? Right now, Halo has significant ownage with 79% of the vote, but like the US in Grenada it's time to show everyone that we can still kick some serious butt! Get out there soldier!
In our forum, Char points out some Halo footage (In QuickTime format) that appears to have been demoed at the Tokyo Game Show. It is a bit brighter than what we have been able to download from Bungie and various other Gamestock '01 mirrors, but it is also very truncated. This may be a boon to dialup users if they don't mind getting the uber-short version and missing some of the cool items in between the beginning and end of the Gamestock footage.
mythwolfage.com tracked down Andrew Meggs' homepage, antennahead.com, and noted that he'd commented on Myth III's progress on the 18th and 31st of March. Among other things:
The game has progressed from a new set of maps for Myth 2, some models and animations in 3DS, and disconnected code to Myth 3 with some rough spots and missing pieces.
The Wight model is something truly unique.
In an effort to prove that it is not vaporware, Vista has posted a demo of Jinn at The Mill. It was posted on April 1, although the reviews and description suggest that it is indeed the real thing. 33 ratings and it's got a 4.45 average, so it must be pretty good!
Well, we were all wondering what the Oni team was working on these days...and it's probably not this. Nonetheless, this looks to be one of the most innovative, complex, and just plain fun--but why listen to me babble on when you can hear about it straight from Bungie? Check out the game description, screenshots and movies at the official site for Pimps At Sea!
Breaking news... Blue's News is reporting a rumor that there may be further, more sweeping changes made to Bungie's newest creation. This may involve both a name change, and a shift in this genre-busting title. Halo Fan7asy is still well on track for concurrent release with the Xbox, but it will be expanded into a massive multiplayer role-playing game in order to strengthen the Xbox against the Playstation 2's anticipated titles. We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.
3of9 of IslandFour.Org just contacted me about a new screen shot which has been supplied to him from within the bowels of Island Four Interactive Software Corp. Island Four was recently established by Nathan Bitner, who in pre-acquisition days was a designer on Bungie's Halo team. If this item turns out to be true, then we may have a real treat to look forward to within the next year. It's a possibility that we could have a great title to keep us tied-over until Halo comes to the Mac and PC.
