We've just gotten the word from an MS PR representative that in recent playtesting the Halo team has decided to simplify some aspects of Halo. He specifically points to weapons balance as one of their key issues:

Matt Soell of Bungie is supplying this week's regular dose of Halo dope via Battleground: Halo. Take a few hits before heading over there for the mother lode:
A gent named Zypper from USC posted his experiences to HBO's forum today, describing how Microsoft appeared on-campus to demonstrate the Xbox and answer some of the students' questions. His report cites the possibility that we may yet see further alterations to the Xbox's final hardware specs, and is otherwise somewhat detailed. It's a worthy item to read if you're interested in the Xbox.
Yeah yeah... At the risk of appearing to be a bit of an Xbox-focused site lately, we've got another item for you. We've learned that Take Two Interactive has signed on to provide games for the Xbox.
Beginning with a somber and very Japanese introduction at the Tokyo Game Show, followed by a somewhat rock concert-like display, Bill Gates' keynote address was broadcast last night (For us, but during the day in Japan) via Xbox.com. It's nearly an hour long, and I'm only partly through it myself, but it may be some worthwhile viewing for those who are interested in the future of the Xbox.
Marty appeared on the HBO forum to clarify some things regarding the audio effects and music we heard in the GameStock '01 Halo movie.
Several individuals passed on information pertaining to the new partnership between NTT Communications and Microsoft. What's that mean? We really fully know yet. Here is the spin, with video, from Xbox.com. This is an article from The Standard, an online e-business news site. Reports seem to agree that the Xbox's online strategy will not be properly launched until sometime in 2002...
Kudos to ax for finding this big news on Sega and the XBox. Chodemeister Bill Gates himself announced that Sega currently has 11 titles in development for the XBox. Rumor has it that Sonic The Hedgehog, Jet Grind Radio Future and Panzer Dragoon will be among the prominent titles to grace the console. Apparently there is a bond between the two companies and hopefully Sega can take advantage of the XBox's power and improve their already fantastic arcade games.
A couple of items to report to you. FoxHound was able to locate an English-language webpage for the Tokyo Game Show, but it hasn't been terribly informative and it appears that they're having someone whose second language is English translate, which tends to be the Japanese way.
