For those of you who still love Marathon, and are at least a few of you out there, this weekend just got a little bit better. As announced earlier, the Marathon: Rubicon scenario was released today, and finally be downloaded from one of several mirrors at the official site.
For those of you who aren't frequent forum visitors here, I thought I'd pop up a quick notice. I'm not usually one to toot my own horn so shamelessly, but I slapped up some impressions (actually recreated from a post lost when our script burped) after studying the newest nine screen shots. Others have had fascinating items to add to the pot, and so it has become an all-around interesting discussion. Check it out - maybe you'll have something to add!
Does anything else need be said? ;-)
Well, not much to talk about this week. No sir. Howzabout we just skip to the interesting bits?- Passengers in the jeep now take damage when shot.
- Things other than bipeds (like bullets) now collide properly with two-sided surfaces (like glass).
- Chris Hughes is adding some nice detail to the Marine head permutations.
Pitiless #@L# shared the following e-mail, which he reports having received from a Bungie employee.
Regarding our item yesterday on the individual named IO-Stream , Matt Soell had a bit of a reply for his second quote, regarding a supposed Halo server program:
What the poster on IGN says goes totally against what we've been saying internally, and I really doubt a Bungie person said what he claims they said.
The good people of halo.bungie.org sent Matt Soell a set of Gamestock followup questions, and his reply was prompt, clear and free of references to anyone's mother. This is a must-read--he touches on almost all the issues of greatest concern to those who watched the Gamestock footage and read the reviews--and he's agreed to a possible second round of questions. So get on over to HBO, figure out what you still want to know after reading Matt's answers, and send your questions to the link provided there.
GameSpot UK contacted us with news of an exclusive interview with Jason Jones. During the discussion, Jason reaffirms PC and Mac support, as well as Bungie's commitment to multiplayer.
