GameFAQs Opens Halo 2 Board
The good folks at GameFAQs have opened up a message board dedicated to Halo 2 in addition to their Halo and Halo Online boards. It's always nice to have more resources available, so this gets our approval.

HBO is back, and in one of the first news posts of the day Louis Wu drops an interesting tidbit:
Hopefully, DNS will propagate fast enough that by the time the Halo 2 trailer is released, folks can find us.
If one were so inclined, one might be led to believe that means that shortly after the time it usually takes for a DNS record to update-- usually 2-3 days, tops-- the trailer will be out.
Locke130 wrote and submitted a complete Oni walkthrough to GameFAQs this past weekend. Although most people who were interested in Oni have already beaten the game, it's nice to see interest still thrives among its fans.
MBO also put up notice that Andrew Meggs of Antennahead has put up a screenshot of Vengeance, the Myth 3 editor, running on a Mac (under OS 9, by the look of it) up at his website for Antennahead Industries. It's captioned by the single word.. soon .
HBO suffered a temporary service outage while they changed servers. Word on the forum (which stayed up, due to being on a different box) is that the DNS databases are starting to update and the new server is functioning. Not everyone will be able to reach it yet, but everyone should within the next 2-3 days.
TeamXbox.com has a news story announcing that the Xbox Live online gaming service will launch on November 15, exactly one year after the launch of the Xbox and its premier title, Halo. Halo 2 will support Xbox Live, but it won't be out for another year. At launch, about 10 titles will support Xbox Live, including Unreal Championship, Ghost Recon and NFL 2003. To follow in 2003 will be Halo 2, CounterStrike and Star Wars: Galaxies.
Love 'em or hate 'em, they won't go away... not yet, anyway. There's another Bungie comic by David Candyman Candland up at Bungie.net. In any case, I'm sure the special place that Jaime Case Griesemer refers to must be Rampancy's new Halo 2 forum. Or, at least, in our dreams it is.
A site called XboxGamers recently advertised that it was looking for questions to submit to the Halo 2 development team for an upcoming exclusive interview . As it turns out, this was more a result of an overly charitable response to a bit of spam in Matt Soell's mailbox. Get the lowdown in his HBO post on the subject.
HBO pointed out a section on The Psyjnir Complex called Tabloids. There's an interesting series of items running there purporting to be insider reports from a Bungie informant called Shallow Throat. The crux of it seems to be the plans for a total of six.. no, make that seven... (or was it nine, originally?) Halo games.
There have been a few changes on the site.
First, you'll notice we're active at http://rampancy.synfibers.com. We've tried to change all the links on the site to use this address so that nothing breaks. We're encountering continuing problems with the administration of rampancy.net and rampancy.com, and so this time we're going to stay put at this makeshift address until they are completely and finally solved.
