With 21 teams registered so far, there are 11 spots still available for CPL's Halo PC tournament this summer (the one with the $50,000 prize purse). Thanks cookedgamers.
BGH pointed out an article at Halo Phenom documenting how, as has been done to countless PC-based shooters before it, modified maps, models and textures are being applied to PC Halo to give players what might euphemistically be called an unfair advantage. Cheating, that is.
The article contains URLs to some pictures that show such modified maps, models and textures.
HBO and Mythica are hosting, via BitTorrent and Two Degrees, a new version of a great behind-the-scenes vid released during E3 in 2002 but just recently put out in high resolution on CD by PC Gamer in the UK.
It's got commentary from Marty O'Donnell, Shikai Wang, Rob McLees and Paul Russell. HBO has a list of mirrors. We don't have a version to host over here yet, but we hope we will soon.
Major League Gaming has revised their event schedule for March-June, 2004. Each event begins on the 4th of the month; originally the order began with San Fransisco in March, then Dallas, L.A. and Boston.
The new order is Dallas, Boston, L.A. and then San Fransisco.
UPDATE:We've been informed that there's yet another schedule change, that the next event is in April, and we should have a new schedule again soon.
Brandon "vector40" Oto has submitted the third in his series of articles on Banshee tactics, Banshee Handling III: Applying Reality. If you haven't already, make sure you read part one and part two first or it won't make much sense.
Steve at Cortana.org writes that the Halo Editing Kit testing is indeed going on right now. Good news!

HBO forumgoer 'Nosolee went to the MGL event in Philadelphia this past week and reported back on his experiences. Basically he found a bunch of people far more serious about Halo than he thought he'd find.

[image:6924 left hspace=5 vspace=5 border=0]XLNC has been wowing them in the HBO forum for quite some time with the series of HUDless screenshots he's been producing. For awhile he was recreating some of Bungie's own shots, but at higher resolutions, and he's gone on to do some really well composed original ones.
This tidbit popped up on the web recently on the page of a game development studio called Pi Studios LLC in Plano, Texas:
The results are in from the Major League Gaming Philly Eastern Regional. Here are the results from the Halo events:

Devin Olsen has put up a modification of the Blood Gulch level for PC Halo; it features several new base areas, some floating midair, and constructed out of logs. There's a post in the HBO forum where you can get the download details (and a server address where they'll be playing it), and another where you can view some screenshots.
