The Escapist is calling Bungie a great artist in their piece on how the gaming industry shamelessly pillages the film industry, especially in the area of science fiction. The concept of the article: to make a list of movies so influential on the games industry that, if they had not ever existed, the gaming industry itself would be unrecognizable.

Siege Of Madrigal As It Appears In Halo

Although the track "Siege of Madrigal" is actually from Bungie's earlier RTS game, Myth, it also appears in a hidden spot in the Halo level "Assault on the Control Room".

If you fly a Banshee to one of the ledges high above the pyramid structure at the end of that level, and stand on the far right hand side, you can hear this track play.

A look at halo 3's CG trailer music and halo 2's main theme

Ok first of all I have recently found out that I will have a lot of free time after all, thus I will still be on this site a lot.

Anyway moving on to the subject. There have been several requests about a transcription for the halo 3 cg trailer's background music. Well I was not able to make it out so clearly but I can tell you that it is only the first part of the halo 1 main theme played a little faster. And that is that.

Cheating Elites Dodge Sniper Rounds

Also at the Escapist today, a Microsoft "perception engineer" confirms something about Halo I've long been terribly annoyed by: the tendency of enemies that are far away and do not see you to luckily dodge just as you are about to shoot.

Microsoft Will Not Go It Alone On Halo Film

Buried near the bottom of an interview by Dean Takahashi over at the Mercury News interview with Microsoft's president of Entertainment and Devices Robbie Bach, comes the news that Microsoft will look for other studios to make the Halo film with, or give up the project.

Halos Brand Breakfast Cereal

A discussion about how heavily the Halo franchise was being marketed of course led to a "Halo: The Breakfast Cereal" joke as per a similar mention in the Mel Brooks movie, Spaceballs.

That spurred a few lines of marketing-speak that could be used to promote a Halo cereal. Most of that can be seen here:

The Chief enters the control room. There is a holographic control panel with several cabinet doors beneath it.

Cortana: That cabinet, try there.

The Master Chief opens a cabinet, places Cortana inside. Munching noises can be heard.

Master Chief: Is the cereal there? Are you all right?

Cortana: Never been better! You can't imagine the wealth of nutrition. So many vitamins, so fast... it's glorious!

Master Chief: So, what kind of cereal is it?

The Cereal Cartographer

The Chief and Cortana are sneaking into an underground structure, accompanied by a group of marines.

Marine Pilot (on radio): Mayday, mayday! Dropship Bravo 22 taking enemy fire! Ground teams, you got two enemy dropships coming in fast!

Marine: Dammit! Okay, people, we got company comin', let's set the table.

Cortana: Marines, hold off the Covenant here while the Chief and I activate the map. There, that holo panel. Press it.

The Master Chief presses the holo panel and a holographic map appears.
