All Xbox 360 games that use Xbox Live for online play are going to share a single method for doing matchmaking: a system called TrueSkill and based on methods similar to those used for ranking chess players. IGN has an in-depth look at the TrueSkill system with its creators.
The syndicated column tech.life@play has a short feature on Halloween-themed games. Among them, they took a special shine to Stubbs the Zombie:
How can such a thing be funny? The game plays it for laughs - and succeeds - by displaying an impeccable sense of comic timing, off-the-wall comments uttered by Stubbs' victims, and the dutiful ministrations of a robot guide that wants only to give Stubbs a detailed tour of Punchbowl.
Super Street Online gives Stubbs 4.5 out of a possible five, calling it a "clever, fantastic looking action game. (And no, I didn't know automotive enthusiast websites reviewed video games, either--Ed.)
Yahoo Video Games gave Wideload's Stubbs the Zombie 3.5 stars out of 5 overall. They liked the concept and the humor, but thought the Halo engine "hasn't aged well" and felt the brain-eating mechanic was used too often.
The Weekly What's Update at Bungie.net is loosely packed with... stuff this week. Frankie says that Bungie's next project-- as yet still unnamed-- is generating tangible results:
Wired magazine has reviewed Wideload's Stubbs the Zombie; they liked the humor and the soundtrack, as well as finding the game fun to play:
It's quite like the world of Destroy All Humans, but this one is dirty enough to snag a Mature rating. (One scene sees Stubbs infiltrating the "Knobb Cheese Farm.") Running quips from public-address systems and the dying words of your hapless victims ("Now I'll never get into college!") keep the laughs coming at a constant clip.
Bit by bit, the new features of the revised Xbox.com website are coming online. The My Xbox and new forums appear to be working now. One of the more interesting features in My Xbox is the much-touted Gamercard feature, that shows a personal avatar, your Zone, your Rep, and your Gamertag.

Frankie's latest Weekly What's Update at Bungie.net makes up for in important details what it lacks in epic scope.
Namely, it mentions the over fifty thousand XBL accounts permanently banned, the over $175,000 raised for Katrina relief efforts by the Fight the Flood campaign, and how a seven-foot tall female Spartan killing machine looks without a gun.
1Up has screenshots from Dead or Alive 4 showing Spartan-458 in action against Ryu Hayabusa on Cairo Station. These appear to be the same images as those scanned from print magazines recently. Xboxyde came up with the shots. (Anybody else still secretly hoping Cortana is hidden in there, too?-Ed.)
