Tycho has posted over in the Marathon Resurrection forum (and mentioned in ours) that the last texture (in this case, the Tick) has been finished, paving the way for this four-year-long project to bring the content of the original Marathon game to the Unreal engine to finally be completed.

DcBob over at Clan Plaid Hotline let us know that he typed into the ringtone composer of his cellphone a part of the Marathon 2 theme. His transcription is as follows:

Let's show the gaming world that Marathon fans still know how to smash a poll like in the old days. A GameSpy Title Fight match is on now between two old school 2.5D shooters: Id Software's Doom and Bungie's Marathon. Right now Doom is way ahead, so Bungie needs your help to keep its reputation for being next in line for world domination.

Steve at Forerunners.org writes that a three-level demo of the upcoming Marathon & Beyond scenario for Bungie's Marathon shooter. It is available from the Marathon & Beyond page. Right now it seems that the scenario is about one-third complete.

The first is the formation of a PC Halo Mapmaking group called The Silent Cartographers. They intend to make maps, weapons and vehicles for Halo PC, and unlike most other mapmaking groups, they are not recruiting new members.
