After the Party
It feels as though a tremendous party has been here, consuming all for a day and then moving along, leaving us to wonder just what the hell happened... thanks to all the contributors yesterday, and those to come as well.

During the commotion yesterday, there wasn't really time (or space) to slip in all the the Halo pre/reviews that surfaced yesterday. But now, we have both in abundance, so here are a few that I happened upon during the rounds:
Mostly just cut and paste jobs of the official PR, but opinion seems very positive thus far... I'll add more through the day as they surface.
Kudos to PeteMG, who pointed out that halo.bungie.org has obtained a larger copy of the Halo logo. Makes a great desktop picture (obsession is an ugly thing, isn't it?), so stop by and take a look.
You knew it had to happen... in the torrent of information yesterday, there was apparently some misinfo. A reader at Bungie pointed out two of the more glaring ones:
Blue's news is incorrect that it will only offer D3D support. The other source [Macweek] is wholly incorrect ... making up (completely out of its ass, apparently) about 16 vs. 16 team play and BungieNet.com , which it also mentions. We have said none of this and we will certainly support more than D3D.
Believe nothing you hear, and only half of what you see.
Gamespot has posted a copy of the Halo demo along with their review, as seen during the keynote earlier today. While I've yet to see it, it looks to be of fairly high quality, and is definitely worth checking out, even if you saw the keynote.
Stumbled upon this except from a Macweek article on Halo:
New York -- During Wednesday's keynote presentation at Macworld Expo here, Apple interim CEO Steve Jobs offered Mac gamers a sneak peak at what may be one of the most successful games of all time: Bungie Software Products Corp.'s Halo, a third-person-perspective, multiplayer game that allows up to 32 players -- 16 per team -- to engage in vicious head-to-head battle across networks and Bungie's own Internet gaming service, Bungie.net.
This is, of course, unconfirmed right now... but entirely possible. And will it be enough to be both ground breaking and satisfying?
A post at Blue's News reports that Halo on Windows will only support D3D--no OpenGL. Confirmation is in the works, but these seems like a rather odd thing for Bungie to do, especially as Oni is touted to include support for most major acceleration libraries.
Kudos to Zinfandel for letting me know about the Townhall's Halo page, which features some screenshots from the keynote demo as well as some observations on it. Definitely some of the most detailed stuff yet.
Also, while I'm on the website front, blam.bungie.org has moved into halo.bungie.org now--change your bookmarks, folks.
Alright, it's up now... halo.bungie.com has not only some tantilizing tidbits scattered about it, but the things we've been waiting for... screenshots and a PR. A visit is compulsory... go, now.
Hot on the heels of the Keynote, Bungie has launched their Halo site (the halo.bungie.com addy isn't working... yet), which boasts little more than a logo.
But it's a good thing... look closely folks. Is that a Marathon symbol in the background? ':)
