Kudos to mnemesis, who pointed out the first news post to www.bungie.com in nearly two months. To wit:
Kudos to Maestro, and those before him, who noticed a trio of new Jinn shots quietly uploaded to RHL by iggy, Vistan model-meister turned covert PR operative. Showing off some of Jinn's fantastic models, the three shots give a tantilizing look at things to come.
Nifty! Kudos to Char, who pointed out an article at Stomped regarding a three part comic series based on Oni, to be published by Dark Horse in Spring 2001. Several interesting details to be had, particularily with respect to the storyline, but here's a slightly more on topic snippet:
Kudos to 3of9 for pointing out that it's My Modem is on Fire's birthday! We wish Stefan the best birthday ever while settling in to his new home. =)
Kudos to Mumbles, who pointed out Myth's presence in a Gamespot list of the 15 most influential games of all time. While Myth didn't make the cut (it's one of the 10 runners-up), neither did arch-nemesis Star/WarCraft (Dune 2000 recieved the nod for the RTS genre). Only a short mention, but not bad for a casual click and read.
As pointed out on RHL, Oni Central has recieved and posted a new update from Matt on Oni's development. Some definite 'woo' factor beginning to show... for example:
Some of the bad guys are now smart enough to shoulder roll over a weapon and come up holding it, rather than standing still and bending over to pick it up.
Woo... and there's more where that came from. Stop by and check it out.
Kudos to Cyberbob, who pointed out a handful of news items at www.bungie.net. Of particular note concern Bungie's hiring of an interface designer, while the coveted web engineer job remains unfilled. Dust off those resumes, folks.
Following through on a longstanding threat, we've finally replaced WebBBS with a new, even more functional forum script... UBBS!
*cackles at the shocked reaction*
Ahem. No, we wouldn't be so cruel. The new script is in most ways as functional as or more functional than WebBBS, and was produced in house. The archives have been moved over as of a few minutes ago (a good few hours of backbreaking labor, lemme tell you), and once the forum comes back online, it will be using the new script.
For this week's Halo Update, Rampancy.net has gotten the nod. And so without further ado, here's the latest on Bungie's jaw-dropper straight from Matt Soell:
Just a tidbit or two from the newest issue of Computer Gaming World. First, in the read.me portion of the magazine, they make a small comment on Oni:
