What's going on here?
While IGN admitted Halo was impressive, they don't think it's quite enough to sell systems all by itself, and the supporting cast of games wasn't quite there yet:
Halo will be the best console FPS to hit a console this side of PS2 Half-Life, but outside that, the big guns didn't look so massive at E3.
R.net reader Mark Diller wrote in to let us know about an E3 wrapup article at Salon-- and it mentions Halo and the Xbox front and center. Just not in a good way:
Bungie.org's Lophan wrote to let us know that Freewill has posted an E3 report on Myth III at Myth@Bungie.org. In addition to spotting the Myth III boardgame-- more on that at a later date-- he commented on what's been done so far on Myth III and what is still left to go:
Lanparty.com, which normally focuses on PC games (for obvious reasons) apparently stumbled across FanFestV completely by mistake because they were staying at the same hotel while visiting E3. Subsequently they felt obligated to comment on it.
And while they can be forgiven for not knowing about the FanFest-- maybe-- they can't be for referring to Halo's developers as Bungee :
Intelligamer has posted their E3 wrapup, and while it doesn't mention Halo by name or focus particularly on the Xbox, it does have a couple of items of note.
In the last page of their report, they give awards for best booth and best game at the show. As for the first:

There have been a fair number of complaints about what people saw of Halo at E3, despite the fact that lots of players' comments were pretty positive. Chief among the complaints were low framerates and lack of detail in multiplayer.
Bungie.org's own Louis Wu has recovered from his Halo Overload as he called it and put up his own post-E3 summary of his Halo experience. He still seems to feel the game is fun and on-track. An excerpt:
