Halo And Xbox Still Selling Well
PlanetXbox is reporting that The NPD Group has stated the Xbox and Halo are selling tremendously well. PlanetXbox's story reads:
The Xbox video game system from Microsoft had the best-selling video game console launch on record after two weeks of sales, according to The NPD Group Inc., the definitive source for sales and market data on the video game industry.The data clearly show that Xbox is off to a torrid start, said Robbie Bach, chief Xbox officer at Microsoft. Xbox sold out as soon as we launched, and we're selling systems as fast as we can produce them. More than 100,000 units a week are being delivered to retailers, so game players are likely to find Xbox systems throughout the holiday season. With one of the best launch lineups ever, I understand why Xbox is the most sought-after gift for the holiday.
Most importantly, Xbox purchasers can't get enough of the Xbox launch games. According to The NPD Group, gamers are buying 2.4 Xbox games with every Xbox, resulting in the highest game attach rate ever recorded for a console at launch. Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. sold 1.9 games with every PlayStation 2 during the first two weeks of its launch last year, and Nintendo Company Ltd. has sold 1.9 games with every GameCube to date.
The NPD Group also claims that Halo is the Xbox's best-selling game and is even selling more than Luigi's Mansion for Nintendo's GameCube.
Apple Previews Myth III
Brad Cook of Apple has previewed Myth III on Apple's gaming website. They were able to snag a bunch of quotes from Mumbo Jumbo developers, including Scott Campbell and Mike Donges. The preview contains general information that isn't new to any of us expecting the Mac version, but it's good for those who still need to do some catching up on the story and features.
Classic Map Pack For Myth III Update
El Bastard of the Vista Cartel stopped by and posted an update about the porting of the classic maps to Myth III in the futuremyth forum. It reads:
At least half of the maps are in final testing now, and I must say that the Myth III engine really makes these beautiful. Never realized that 240 color maps could have been acceptable. After seeing these classics in-engine, you'll certainly agree.Confirmed Meshes

Birkholz Discusses Mac Release
Kudos to Total Codex of the Ministry of Security for spotting a post by Nate Birkholz in the MWA forum that further details the release of the Mac version of Myth III. Birkholz writes:
1) On the 17th of November, we said SoonTM. People were unsatisfied with SoonTM and asked for a date, so I went out on a limb and was more explicit, that the ship date, *if it went gold that particular week,* would be in early December. We didn't know if it would go gold that week, or this week, or next week, since no one can be sure how long it takes to fix a bug (without a time machine becoming involved somehow). But since people wanted to know, and were tired of SoonTM , I told them what we were looking at for a possible date. That date changes as the situation changes.2) I didn't mean ...we won't be expecting the gold version of the game for two more weeks at least, I meant we won't get it onto store shelves until two to three weeks after gold date. Precisely, I said, ...we are looking at somewhere between two and three weeks from Gold date. Two to three weeks **FROM** gold date not **TO** gold date. (That's an important preposition.)
This, of course, is why game companies say, SoonTM instead of giving dates.
So in answer to your question, it's coming SoonTM!
If the Mac version of Myth III is intended to hit the shelves before Christmas, it would have to go gold within about a week from today. Can they do it?
Truth And Reconciliation Updates
Truth And Reconciliation has had a couple of updates today. Twelve new screenshots have been added to the site, including pictures of the third race in Halo. Watch out though, as there are some spoilers in the screenshots.
Part IV: Power-Ups has been added to the multiplayer guide. While it is a short chapter, expect the next two sections to be much more extensive.
Gamers.com Reviews Halo
Gamers.com has reviewed Halo, who I gather liked the game since they called it the best first person shooter ever . Going on:
From the very start, you are drawn in like no other game, due to the well-scripted dialogue and storyline as well as the natural immersion the first-person perspective provides. Featuring as many shocking and exciting plot twists as Metal Gear Solid 2, Halo sheds the ultra-stealth focus of that title and replaces it with white-knuckle intensity Goldeneye wishes it had.
Gamers.com scored Halo 10 out of 10 themselves, while their average reader review is 8.9 out of 10. (Thanks HBO)

The Grass Between Your Teeth Updated
