According to Oni Central, Max Hoberman (Bungie's Yeroen) has stated that Oni has gone beta. Jackolantern posted to our forum pointing out an IMG article on the nearness of a beta, and the creation of a number of Microsoft newsgroups for the use of Oni beta-testers, but this is the first confirmation we've heard that a beta is actually in existence.
Thanks to Pallor who pointed out in our forum a typically sharp-witted Salon piece on Microsoft's upcoming X-Box gaming console which mentions Bungie, even if it doesn't mention anything about Halo specifically.
Here's an excerpt:
We don't have all the details or links to films just yet, but SF defeated Ginslingers to win the Myth World Cup 2000.
Congratulations, SF!
The good folk of halo.bungie.org have spotted a rather disturbing sentence in an IGN Xbox interview with Kevin Bacchus, Microsoft's Director of Third Party Relations. The sentence?
Thanks to David Simon for letting us know that Marathon Resurrection, a group porting Marathon maps to the Unreal Tournament engine, have relaunched their site. Unfortunately, my browser isn't letting me get past the first page, but I'm told by assorted reputable folk that they've got new pictures, screenshots, movies and text content, so go and try your own luck.
Forrest of Bungie.Org has let us know that a huge and searchable archive of Myth films is now online at MythMaster Central.
From the PR:
You heard right! A searchable, sortable hyperarchive of all films, past and present, showing all relevant information and allowing you to download any of them with a single click.
Be sure to check it out.
As a blast from the past, the National Myth League is back. Run by Sam Stone, Rolling Rock, and Abaddon, the National Myth League will be 32 teams locked in grid-iron combat, in 4 different divisions of 8 teams apiece. With a 7 week regular season, the top 8 teams from each conference will play for the chance to play in the big one, where little kids wish to play: the Mythbowl 2000.
Eagle eyes at halo.bungie.org have found an interview with Bungie's resident audio genius at MacCentral. Not much in the way of new Halo info, but nevertheless an interesting read.
