The good folk of halo.bungie.org have spotted a rather disturbing sentence in an IGN Xbox interview with Kevin Bacchus, Microsoft's Director of Third Party Relations. The sentence?
For some publishers though, there's a conversation we need to have about how you make use of a system that has no mouse and has no keyboard, and that really is designed as a platform for very intense, action-oriented games.
What's unsettling about this, of course, is the reference to the Xbox as having no keyboard. This would make it very unlikely that Halo's editing tools would be available on the Xbox, and might also imply a longer delay until the release of Mac/PC versions, with their very different control interface. Let us hope this aspect of the Xbox's design isn't yet finalized...
