This week's Halo update goes to Battleground: Halo. Here's a bit on multiplayer:
We're just a smidge late in reporting on this, but Mark Diller informed us of an Xbox article that was in the Seattle Times. The article included this image of Marcus Lehto, David Dunn, Rob McLees, and Mat Noguchi sitting in front of what appears to be Halo. Are they actually playing or just posing with a static screen?
Want to know what a Banshee is? Matt tossed me an e-mail today.
Anyway, I'm sneaking this week's halo update in between Support DB stuff and wanted to clarify this since the word Banshee pops up again. The Banshee is the one that flies...the ones that stay low to the ground are Ghosts.
The names suggest a certain Covenant fascination with the afterlife, and the matter of what is what has been covered to some degree at the Marathon's Story page. When in doubt, ask, right? ;-)
We would have told you earlier, but what with the moon's orbit decaying and our having to sally forth into space and destroy the evil Emperor Ming...well, you know. We've been busy.
Matt reassured those who contributed maps to the Total Codex that they'd still be getting their free copies of Oni and Halo, and nobly blamed himself for the delay. No, this isn't really relevant news to most of you readers, but it's worth it for that warm, fuzzy feeling. :-) Anyway, you'll find his post below.
mad.max asked me to pass on that, at least with the Mac version, you can hold the shift key while starting Oni in order to get to a key-configuration editor. I'm taking his word for it, since I'm on a PC, but I'd like to hear how well this works for you guys.
The Oni Save Game Editor has been updated to version 1.3 for both Macs and PCs. The latest update is compatable with the full version of Oni including the different language versions. Other options (not listed here because they are potential spoilers) are now available, too.
OSGE is an editor that will let you modify all of your save points in Oni. You can give yourself more ammo, different weapons, additional hypos, and even make yourself invisible. Check out the OSGE page to download.
Kudos to Sokar, webmaster of the german Halo site Halo Empire, who wrote alerting us to an interesting image. Remember the recent Seattle Times article, and its picture of the guys playing something on an oblique TV screen?
Well, the fellows at Halo Empire have applied their 1337 Photoshop skillz to it, and 'lo, we have the Marine. Ah, the wonders of image enhancement... definitely worth checking out.
Oni Central has posted a key configuration application for Oni on the Mac. SniperGeoff had already created a Windows version, but now the tool is available for Macs. I tried it out and it's top-notch.
