MacWorld UK has an interview with Peter Tamte from Destineer Studios up that's dated October 23, but nearly all the information in it is old.
They quote Tamte from as saying Westlake will start in September to work on porting Halo to the Mac. And they also mention Kevin Browne of the Mac Business Unit of Microsoft complaining about OS X sales. (Browne left the MacBU recently.)
Not long after I posted the other item about Marathon not being dead, this headline appears on Gamespot:
New casualty of marathon gaming
No Bungie products were involved, but it seems a man in Taiwan has died after a 32-hour gaming session. It was the second such occurrence, as another man in South Korea died after apparently gaming for 86 hours straight.

The bottom line for Halo fans? As follows, and I'm putting this in just so we have mention of it on our front page:

Bungie's own Matt Soell was kind enough to exchange a few words with Rampancy recently about the cancellation of the mysterious Project Phoenix.
Rampancy: How far in the development process did Phoenix get?
Matt: This is a tough question to answer. As with the early stages of Halo's development, we investigated and discarded a lot of ideas, which took a long time. We were still a long way from beta.
Rampancy:Was Phoenix its own engine, or based on Halo?
For the terminally bored, check in once and awhile with the Bungie Webcam. At the moment it's showing a female action figure, a disembodied hand, a t-shirt for Operation Desert Storm (an early 90s Bungie game) and an Oni poster.
Matt Soell has posted an article at Bungie.net about the Halo Winter Season tournament being run by a collection of players who felt that there was a wider audience for Halo tourneys than the one served by the recent Halo National Championships.
