Bringing It To The Next Level
[image:7214 left hspace=5 vspace=5 border=0]A couple more projects are underway to bring new netmaps to PC Halo, still without the as-yet-unreleased Halo Editing Kit. (We're pretty sure that's going to become part of the official name at this point.)
Madrox is creating a new multiplayer level out of the architecture at the top of Boarding Action, with some new architecture as well using a technique known as "multi-inject". There's a video over at HaloMods.
Rumored Xbox Price Cut Materializes
Gamespy is reporting that the long-rumored price cut for Microsoft's Xbox, bringing the unit under $150 in the US, has been announced by MS and will finally happen in April of 2004. The Xbox is now cheaper than the leading next-generation console, the PlayStation 2 from Sony. A second-generation Xbox is widely rumored for release in 2005.
MBO Updates, Project Magma Reopens, OS X To Get Myth 2 Patch
Gholsbane has broken a long silence on Myth.bungie.org and provided a lot of good news for players of Bungie's RTS series, Myth: The Fallen Lords and Myth 2: Soulblighter.
Last Friday, Project Magma reopened with a new design. It has new forums and new bug reports and wish lists for each of their projects. Doobie also writes that further updates to all three Myth games are in the works.
You Wouldn't Like Him When He's Angry
Pico's new movie Lethal Rage 3 is garnering great reviews so far, so we've put up a Lethal Rage 3 mirror in our Halo movies section. It's a little more than ten minutes long, a little less than 36 Mb in size, and is in QuickTime format.
Halo Movies Go HUDless
gutupio has posted a link over in the HBO forum to what just might be the first true 100% HUDless Halo film. (Silvergrunt earlier did a WMV with HUDless clips in it, and others may have as well.) It's a 20 Mb DivX-encoded AVI, and reportedly the closest it has to a title is Entry 1, which seems to suggest to me at least the theoretical possibility of an Entry 2 at some point.
