MJCrascal21 has submitted two new pieces to the sheet music database: Follow Our Brothers and To Kill A Demon, both from Halo 3. Both of these are PrintMusic files, and To Kill A Demon also includes audio; hopefully audio will be added to Follow Our Brothers shortly.

The Game Audio Network Guild is holding its sixth annual awards ceremony for the best audio in games during the Game Developers Conference on February 21, 2008.

Halo 3 is nominated in several categories, including Audio of the Year, Music of the Year, Best Original Soundtrack Album, Best Cinematic Audio, Best Dialogue, Best Original Vocal-Choral (for "Luck") and Best Use of Multi-Channel Surround In A Game.

Several new pieces in the sheet music database this week.

Longtime reader Jonathan Churchill has stepped up with two new submissions: Impend for strings and keyboard from Halo 2 and One Final Effort for piano from Halo 3, with more planned to come later.

Awhile back I took a post about a Halo themed shoe and spun it into a theory about why Bungie and Microsoft might have parted so amicably: because while Bungie gets the freedom to expand into a studio large enough to do more than one project and not just Halo games, Microsoft gets to retain the Halo intellectual property to capitalize on any way they can.

Of course, it turned out the shoe wasn't official-- it was just a one-off by a fan.

Now the other shoe has dropped.
