[image:4307 left hspace=5 vspace=5 border=0]Microsoft has announced 22 new broadband partners for Xbox live, including OptusNet and Telstra, TeliaSonera, and many others in the eight new Xbox Live countries (Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Korea, Norway and Switzerland). The total number of providers is now over 70. Thanks GameSpot.
Blue's News is reporting that Epic Games has announced Unreal University, where modmakers will get training on the Unreal Engine. Hey, Bungie, you going to let Epic steal all the mindshare in the modmaker education business? Where's Halo University? Sheesh, the sales of sweatshirts and bumper stickers to alumni alone would be a gold mine.
Games Domain is reporting that online retailer Lik-Sang is now shipping items for free. The company has been known for "high and unpredictable" shipping costs, according to the article. In addition, they were one of the few providers of modchips for consoles, drawing the ire of the likes of Sony and Microsoft.
With only 3 of 28 prizes claimed so far, Louis Wu at HBO is admitting that it may be harder than anticipated... but it is still possible. Keep looking!
...but not quite yet. So far, Red vs Blue has only been nominated by the Academy of Machinima Arts and Sciences in six categories: Best Picture, Best Direction, Best Virtual Performance, Best Writing, Best Editing, and Best Independent Film. Thanks Louis.
Louis Wu at HBO pointed out a small item at Music4Games.net, talking with Bungie Studios' Marty O'Donnell about the music for Halo 2. There are some interesting tidbits there about the work process, including the fact that the music recorded for the Halo 2 E3 demo was recorded live during the performance of the demo, and that the music, like the gameplay, was altered slightly each time.
1UP has done a feature on the top 50 to watch in the gaming industry, and Bungie Studios' Jaime "Flawless Cowboy" (aka Case) Griesemer, level designer on Halo and design lead on Halo 2, made #17 on the list. Among other things, he promises "more organic" levels in Halo 2 as a response to complaints about repetitive indoor areas.

Grenadiac and SourceGuy mentioned in the HBO forum that the next version of their Halo editor, SparkEdit, should be out soon, featuring source and destination editing for teleporters, weapon and powerup spawn point editing, rally waypoint editing, and many other new features.
