Microsoft Posts Official Xbox Launch Title List
xbox.ign.com is reporting that the final, official list of launch titles for the Xbox has now been released. Most of it will come as a surprise to no one: there will be five first party titles available on launch day: Halo, Oddworld, NFL Fever 2002, Project Gotham Racing and Fuzion Frenzy. In addition, there will be fourteen third party titles, including DoA3, Madden NFL 2000, NHL Hitz 20-02, and Shrek. Some of these are already available in some stores.
No Halo Movie In The Works-- Yet
Eric Trautmann from Microsoft has posted in our forum about his involvement with Eric Nylund's Halo prequel novelization, The Fall of Reach . In the course of his post, he talked a bit about the movie rumors going around:
Voodoo Drivers For OS X Under Unofficial Development
Found an interesting story over at IMG about Adam Thayer, who is unofficially developing drivers for the Voodoo 3, 4, and 5 cards under Mac OS X. Since 3dfx went out of business last year, there haven't been any updates to the drivers at all, which means that Voodoo cards do not accelerate OS X.
Pepper Heights Map Available For Download
MWA has posted one of the bonus maps included with the EBGames pre-order package. Pepper Heights is a Gimble In The Wabe-like map for Myth III. MWA is having some server troubles, so be patient and keep trying the link.
Myth TFL 4th Anniversary Party Tonight
The celebration for the 4th anniversary of Myth: The Fallen Lord's release will be held on Marius.net tonight. No time is specified, but showing up at around 6:30 PST would be a good bet.
Seventh Column Update
SeventhColumn.org has updated and now displays a large 6 . This looks like it could be a countdown to the release of the Xbox, which will be released on November 15 (Actually 7 days from today. Covenant Statue On The Bungie Webcam
We're not sure exactly what it will be used for, but Ferrex pointed out to us on RHL today that there was a statue of a Covenant Elite on the Bungie Webcam today. Perhaps it might eventually be a contest or tournament prize, like the Trow statues used in the past.
From The Man Himself: There Will Be PC Halo
CG Online has a short interview with Jason Jones, original cofounder of Bungie Software Products Corporation subsequently sold to Microsoft and transmogrified into Bungie Studios, developers of Halo for the Xbox. They asked point blank if Halo would still come to the PC, to which Jones replied point blank, yes .
