In the wake of Nintendo's claim to have doubled the Xbox's sales, Microsoft is lining up retailers with positive experiences selling the Xbox this past week.
In this ConsoleWire story based on a PR Newswire item, GameStop President Dan Matteo called the Xbox launch the best he'd ever participated in:
XboxWeb has reviewed Halo and gave it some serious props. Similarly to the Electric Playground review, they also loved the controls. They went insofar as to suggest that Microsoft [could have] specifically designed the controller to suit first person shooters such as Halo.
XboxWeb didn't stop there - not when they felt the audio needed tremendous commendation:
Jason MacIsaac has written a Halo review for the electric playground, and it's glowingly positive. In fact, they even liked the controls:
MacGamer's Corey Tamas is reporting that version 1.1.1 of the Unreal Tournament mod Marathon: Resurrection is now available, including a number of bug fixes and other improvements.
Will White at Cloudchaser Microsoft has reviewed Halo, and while they admitted that the graphics were gorgeous, they found the story less than innovative, the controls sometimes frustrating, and the water effects unrealistic. In addition:
CoreMagazine's Brendan Sinclair has written a review of Halo. As many others have, he compared it favorably to Half Life, lamented the lack of bots, and thought the audio was even better than the visuals. Overall he gave the game an 'A' grade:
The Financial Times is reporting from Tokyo that Nintendo intends to increase US GameCube shipments, and is confirming the estimated 700,000 units shipped so far:
Ferrex pointed out at RHL that there is now a site purporting to have an Xbox Gateway program available for download.
It's a Linux boot disk set that sets up an ethernet bridge-like system that can be used to connect Xbox consoles remotely over the Internet for playing so-called System Link games that can be played on LAN.

Kudos to IMG for reporting that Oni Save Game Editor has been open-sourced at iDevGames. Tobias Opfermann, OSGE's author, wants the project to be continued and feels that open-sourcing the application is the best way to do so.
HBO's own Louis Wu posted a note that Adrenaline Vault has finally put up their own Halo review; and shock of shocks, they thought it was great, giving it 5/5 overall.
