GameDaily Biz has the story of Wideload's first game from its Wideload Shorts division, Cyclomite:
In Wideload Shorts' Cyclomite players pilot a round object called a Cyclomite through meteor storms "in order to save the universe." A multicolored Cyclomite ring in the center of the field is used to catch meteors as they fly toward the center of the storm. The game will also offer two multiplayer modes, hundreds of co-operative multiplayer levels, and a versus multiplayer game.
c0rps3K1lla008 at High Impact Halo has posted a guide to maximizing your campaign score on Halo 3. It makes a good companion piece to the guide on skulls posted at Bungie.net. This one line, however, is genius and bears quoting:
Turning on Catch for Floodgate, Cortana, and Halo gives a free 1.5x multiplier! Why? Because the Flood do not throw grenades!
Nthro Sraom wrote up a quick guide to the terminal locations in Halo 3. Don't forget, finding all of them grants an achievement, and viewing all of their pages (which are different on Legendary difficulty) grants access to a lot of Halo 3's backstory.
After Halo 2, VVV didn't hold out much hope that he'd like the next installment, and he's found that the game met his low expectations. Check out his review for a counterpoint to all the pro-Halo 3 enthusiasm. He does like the game-- better than Halo 2-- but there's a bittersweet flavor to it for him.
Since I've been spending way too much time playing Halo 3, a lot of news has slipped by the last couple days:
Kotaku notes a new Xbox 360 bundle that includes Halo 3, destined for Europe.
TTL says Halo 3 is blam!ing awesome.
GamesFirst thought the gunplay was excellent and the story "nonsense" but gave Halo 3 a score of 4 stars out of 5 anyway.
CVG has posted up The Bungie Story, an excerpt from Halo 3 - The Ultimate Companion book, free with Xbox World 360 issue #58 on sale this month.
It's more of a Bungie Summary than a Bungie History, running quickly from Minotaur to Monitor, but it's a nice primer for those who have been brought into the Bungiefen fold by Halo 3.
The second item in Meyeselph's Halo 3 weapon guide is that all-around performer and MLG favorite, the Battle Rifle. Almost makes people forget the Halo 1 pistol.
