GameDaily Biz has the story of Wideload's first game from its Wideload Shorts division, Cyclomite:
In Wideload Shorts' Cyclomite players pilot a round object called a Cyclomite through meteor storms "in order to save the universe." A multicolored Cyclomite ring in the center of the field is used to catch meteors as they fly toward the center of the storm. The game will also offer two multiplayer modes, hundreds of co-operative multiplayer levels, and a versus multiplayer game.
The Wideload reports on an IRC chat with Wideload Games' Matt Soell; he says that things at the Load have been busy, but that fans can expect some developments Soon™.

...or rather woodchuck love, as a new blogger, the animal kingdom newscaster Woodchuck Chumley has shown up at the Huffington Post with his own blog. Perhaps he'll be answering the age-old question, how much wood would a woodchuck chuck. Or maybe he'll just talk animal kingdom politics:
Wideload Games' Alexander "The Man" Seropian will keynote the Indie Games Conference in Eugene, Oregon on October 10-11. He'll be giving a talk on the mission of the new Wideload Shorts division of his company.

Scott Corley tells the Escapist how he accidentally spent six years selling games for the Palm Pilot before catching on with old friend Alex Seropian to head up Wideload's short game division.

GameSpot interviews Wideload's Scott Corley, formerly of Red Mercury and High Voltage Software, who is now heading up the Wideload Shorts department. Wideload Shorts is currently working on an Xbox Live Arcade game, said to be "nearing its final stages" with the goal of being released before the end of this year.
Gamasutra has a five page interview with Alex "The Man" Seropian at Wideload; not too much new or substantive there, but he does confirm that Hail to the Chimp uses the Unreal engine, and that the studio has grown to 20 or so full-time and that sum is divided into two teams.
Gamasutra has prodded Wideload Games' Alex "The Man" Seropian into admitting that the company he founded has a second team working on an Xbox Live Arcade title. The author suggests this may be the object of the cryptic reference, "Coming Soon: Project: Hot Sauce and the Rainbow Space Car" that appears on the company's recently-revamped website.
Portions of the Hail to the Chimp website to promote Wideload's upcoming party game for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 that were previously "coming soon" have just opened. "Meet the Candidates" takes a look at five of the characters, "The Campaign Trail" is a screenshot gallery, and "Campaign Videos" shows the game's first trailer. The entire site is in Flash, so I can't direct link to those pages, so just visit chimplove.com and find your own way from there.
The first trailer for Hail to the Chimp, Wideload's upcoming political party beat-'em-up, is available now at 1Up, and it shows actual gameplay, including the creation of a temporary player alliance. 1Up has also done a preview.
