If you take a look in the menubar on the left, you'll see a couple of minor additions.
The first is the Countdown box, which currently is counting down the number of days until the release of the Halo 2 trailer as well as the (estimated) number of days until the release of Halo 2, assuming that the sequel comes out November 15, 2003, exactly two years after the original and well within the published estimate of Q4 2003.
The second feature, Nostalgia, features links to Rampancy stories from one, two, and three years ago, as well as the inaugural news story at The Core.
The Rampancy hotline server had a brief outage today but now is back in operation.
HBO suffered a temporary service outage while they changed servers. Word on the forum (which stayed up, due to being on a different box) is that the DNS databases are starting to update and the new server is functioning. Not everyone will be able to reach it yet, but everyone should within the next 2-3 days.
There have been a few changes on the site.
First, you'll notice we're active at http://rampancy.synfibers.com. We've tried to change all the links on the site to use this address so that nothing breaks. We're encountering continuing problems with the administration of rampancy.net and rampancy.com, and so this time we're going to stay put at this makeshift address until they are completely and finally solved.
The site that was once MythPortal has now reopened as GamerTalk. Billing itself as a site for serious gamers , it has a much wider focus than the old site, encompassing forums for games on Macs, PCs, and various consoles including the Xbox, the PlayStation, the GameCube and the DreamCast, as well as more general discussion areas.
Zandervix over at MBO noticed that MythPortal is closing to move to a new server, and that when it completes that move it will have a new name and apparently a new, broader focus. Stay tuned.
The movie collections of RHL and the rampancy.net website have been merged. This saves us some disk space, allowing us to host more movies, as well as gives users the opportunity to view or download movies either via hotline or http, whichever they prefer.
We will shortly be adding entries on the movies page for items that were previously available only at RHL. RHL, of course, is accessible at hotline://rampancy.net.
...but will anyone besides Louis notice? Tune in and see!
We've changed over many (although not all) of the site's internal links to rampancy.synfibers.com so that the site will be a little more functional until our real domain returns.
The hotline server and the website are both online and accessible; it is only issues with our DNS entries that are causing us problems.
The hotline server is accessible at 161.58.233.37, and since you're reading this we assume you know that the site is online at http://161.58.233.37/rampancy/drupal-cvs/ .
Thanks for bearing with us.
7HR33 has opened its site to the public, and it has a good amount of high quality content already; in particular, the Antics page has several screenshots and movies that constituted their contributions to HBO's tips and tricks section.
The Banshee Flare movie has been added to our Halo Movies page and is now available for download from the website as well as the Hotline server.
