Kudos to MacDrugal, who points out yet more new Halo screenshots from the german site www.gxp.de. The second of these new shots, while of poor quality, shows a new weapon:
I'll take a look at the results of last week's poll later tonight, but before I'm gone, here's a new poll for you addicts out there: what brought you to Halo?
How did you hear about the game, and become a part of the community (or aware of it, if you try to keep yourself out of our crazed ranks)? Not the most controversial topic, of course, but a good information source. I suspect most readers will opt for the Older Game choice, having come from older game communities like Myth or Marathon...
Kudos to Noctavis, who pointed out an interesting comment made by Dave Laprad, editor in chief at the Adrenaline Vault, regarding their lack of Halo coverage:
We have been working with Bungie on a preview for some time. Stay tuned.
Fascinating. Keep your eyes peeled for this one, which is likely to be an interesting one.
Bungie has made Chimera available for download, as promised, so if your connection can choke back all 96 megs of this scenario pack, bon appetit. Mirrors should be appearing all over the net soon, too, just in case you're having trouble with Bungie's server.
I would also like to take this opportunity to announce my willingness to eat my own leg if someone can beat all of these levels on co-op Legendary, no casualties...
Butcher has posted a pair of new screenshots from the german site www.gxp.de, having obtained them through a roundabout route.
Very cool screenshots. It looks like we have a second distinct tank here, and the analysis has already begun in earnest. A fine addition to the growing number of vehicles... need to update the FAQ again.
Sorry about the missed updates, folks. I spent last night and most of the day driving or arguing with future instructors about class registration, and am just now catching up. The new poll will come later today... hindsight being 20/20, I should have thought of a new topic while I was on the road. Grumble...
Butcher has pointed out an interesting article at Gamasutra, about the role played by shame and glory in online multiplayer games. An excellent article that makes several very good points, and definitely worth a read (even if it isn't directly related to Halo).
Knight of Halo Network sends word of a new feature at that site, a daily Halo comic. An ambitious undertaking, given the amount of material to produce and the finite material for it, but one to keep an eye on nevertheless.
