The crack(ed? ;-) team at Haloplayers has posted up a new interview with Max (a.k.a. Yeroen) of Bungie. It focuses mainly on items regarding the development team and the fan community. Go and take a look!

Keenly observant, Cyberbob has pointed out the first event of what is sure to be an interesting day around the web, this one at Marathon's Story. Quite the blast from the past...

Ah, what a magical day... it's really too bad we've been too busy preparing a brand new site for launch to play any tricks today. Yessir, nothing in the way of non-launch work planned.

And speaking of the launch of brand new sites, a notable new gaming news site has joined us on this fine day: The Corporation will be a strangely familiar site to a lot of you, and a well spent click for the rest of you. Highly advised, and no, it isn't a prank. ;)

It's often a good idea to keep an eye on the competition, and Merkinjata has informed us of a major Tribes 2 preview-interview at Planet Starsiege. Tribes 2 is currently scheduled to ship this Summer and is expected to be one of the prime competitors for the multiplayer game in Halo.

You may note a certain convergence between some items on Tribes 2's promised features list and the information which we've had on Halo for awhile. How much of this was already planned out before Halo went public is anyone's guess, but it'll be very interesting to see how these two games stack up against one another. It shouldn't be hard to guess which one I'm betting on. ;-)

We reported yesterday about Matt's comments on the Incite PC footage being pulled. He replied to a post of Ferrex's in our forum and said:

Anyway, this footage I can't just hand out because it's already promised to someone else. I'm sure it'll be easy to get hold of once it's released. At the very least, you know it's on the way. :-)

He has also responded to some questions at the Halo.BOrg forum. Here's an excerpt from that post:

The physics are pretty much done at this point; there will certainly be tweaking done here and there but the bulk of it is ready to go. The bare bones of the story have been etched out for a while but a lot of the intensely detailed bits are still in Jason and Rob's heads. We're still concentrating on building the net game; there are nightly games here at the office. When that's solid, we start serious work on the solo game (certain preparatory work is being done now, but there aren't any complete missions you can play from start to finish).

You might want to read his full post and any replies at both locations. This information is important because it appears that Matt is confirming that Halo is now in the second of three stages of development. (Those being Engine, Multiplayer and Single-Player) Don't hold your breath, though... quality appears to be the number one issue in Bungie's collective consciousness, and we can still expect to wait for awhile. I'm sure it'll be worth it. ;-)
