HBO is announcing the winners of their latest Seven on Seven contest. This last competition was to put the Master Chief into an older Bungie game. The seven winners get free downloads of Freeverse's Marathon:Durandal from Xbox Live Arcade.

HBO is running another Seven on the Seventh contest; the prize this time is Marathon: Durandal, the XBLA conversion of the Bungie classic by Freeverse. To enter the contest, draw a picture of the Master Chief having "wacky adventures" in older Bungie games. See HBO for the complete rules.

Of course, you didn't think Bungie would just shovel the Multiplayer Public Beta date at you on a post-it note and call it done? No, of course not. So while Bungie.net now has a story that leads with this ultra-salient fact:

The Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta will go live on May 16th at 12:00 AM PDT and run through June 6 th at 11:59 PM PDT.

Registration will open February 12 for the 5x5 Proelium Standards Myth vTFL tournament, part of the events scheduled this year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Bungie's Mac and PC RTS game, Myth: The Fallen Lords.

Members of the PMS and Cavegirls clans came out to challenge the Bungie guys (and friends) in the latest humpday and came away winners, 6 to 5. The Bungie guys complain they were undermanned, but surely they knew that going in? Details at Bungie.net in KfeckingP's post.

Due to one thing and another, including chetz, h4x, modified weapon spawns, beastly brute spiker dual-wielding, and the fact that Ferrex rulz and Staten droolz, the Halo 3 Multiplayer Team defeated the Bungie Community Team 2 games to 1 in the latest internal humpday. 1Up continues their "three weeks of Halo 3" online series to accompany their chocked-with-Halo 3-goodness December issue. The latest addition is a Humpday Challenge writeup where Bungie cheats and multiplayer lead Tyson "Ferrex" Green graciously stops at the appropriate number of 7 kills to leave 1Up with some self-esteem. Just not much.

Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards spends a lot of time online playing Halo 2. He brings an Xbox 360 to the hotel with him on the road and connects to Xbox Live through their Internet connection.

What does he want to do next? According to Xbox.com, he wants to be a modder.

In his blog, Eric Trautmann notes that author of the "Armor Testing" story in the Halo Graphic Novel, Jay Faerber, will sign your stuff and answer your questions at Olympic Cards and Comics in Lacey, WA.

After that, there's a Halo tournament with prizes!

Frankie and SketchFactor, over in Barcelona for the X06 event, decided to do a different sort of Humpday Challenge this week, applying their Halo 2 skills to other games available for play.

The two pitted themselves against bots in Shadowrun (the bots won) and then against each other in Gears of War (Frankie won).
