The MIDI is 4:42 long, and contains the opening sequence to both Outskirts and the 2003 E3 demo, as well as Earth City from the Halo 2 soundtrack. Also included are the Printmusic files of all the parts, as well as a score, and a PDF document that has all of the parts and the score, more than 45 pages of material all told in this .zip archive.
Spenser "Poop Scoop" Anunsen is continuing his Halo 2 soundtrack transcriptions; this time, he's done Earth City, which includes not only the Earth City piece from the Halo 2 soundtrack, but also the introduction from Outskirts and the piece from the E3 2003 demo. Regional winners for most of the 24 countries competing in the Halo 2 Worldwide Xbox Live Tournament have been announced; the only countries without finalists so far are the United States and Japan. Read the full press release for the list of regional winners.
Regional Finalists Named in First Global Xbox Live Contest
Qualifying finalists from 22 out of Xbox Live’s 24 regions have been identified and will advance to the championship round in the world’s first global Xbox Liveâ Halo 2 tournament. The United States and Japan regional contests are currently underway, with the winners being determined by the end of May. The winners from each locality will vie for the honor of being crowned Xbox Live Halo 2 World Champion, playing entirely online via Xbox Live.
[image:9478 align=left hspace=5 vspace=5 border=0] Infernus441 has written a small Windows program called the Xbox Live Experience Calculator that, when given your Halo 2 rating on XBL and that of your opponents, will precisely calculate the experience you will gain or lose as a result of a victory or a defeat. He's also posted his own description and download links in our forum.
This program implements the scoring rules for Xbox Live that Bungie describes. It allows you to enter in your own level and the level of your opponents and precisely calculate how much experience you will gain or lose in a game against them.
PHP and Mac-compatible versions are also under development.

Ryan "Mhaddy" Matthews of The Junkyard writes that Dan Chosich of 2070Films (who is clearly trying to make this Dan Choisch Day) inquired with the makers of Monster Cables about whether they'd be making DVI or HDMI cables for the hi-def, next-gen consoles. Happy Birthday to Rampancy! This site, which was originally called The Core, opened its doors as a news and forum site for Bungie's new game, at that time not yet announced and widely referred to only as "blam". Our first news post, by Ferrex (now at Bungie) was on May 26, 1999.
Ender Illes made a short photo essay and writeup about the Bungie booth at E3 2005, where the next five multiplayer maps were available for play. SketchFactor has put it up at Bungie.net.
