Steve at Forerunners.org wrote to let us know that Forerunners.org was not "down for repairs" as we wrote earlier, but was down in order to be moved from one server to another.

Brian at Halo.ibonk.com writes that they've named three new moderators to help out with the site: Shaft, BradLee and Alx. Everybody drop by and say hello.
In the last couple of days, two Halo sites: Forerunners.org and Break Point Halo, have both had to go down for repairs and have come back up. Everyone applaud.
SketchFactor writes at Bungie.net that they're holding a Halo-Ween pumpkin carving contest; carve up a Halo-themed pumpkin, take a photo of it, and email it to feedback@bungie.com before October 31, 2003. All standard image types are acceptable (JPEG, BMP, TIF, GIF). If you want to snail mail a photo, use this address:
Halo Babies this weeks takes a look at the problems caused when the only available babysitter... is a Hunter. Thanks Mr. Smiley.
Although the official keeper of the Bungie Way, Matt Soell, has since moved on to greener, presumably more hippo-infested pastures, the rest of the community soldiers on. Shishka, in a forum thread that began with server stats for HBO and segued into what does it mean to be a Bungie Fan, waxes philosophical about the Bungiverse and why it's so cool.
Not to be outdone by Chelsea Bridge's snide suggestions, Miguel "Freewill" Chavez has piped in with some far more practical suggestions on how to solve the Scavenger Hunt, as well as some references to the old Glyph puzzle. Thanks Louis Wu.
First, get a cup of really hot tea. No, wait... wrong universe. Mat "angryzenmaster" Noguchi put up another interesting Halo tip in his blog; this one's about how you can get unlimited active camo and ammunition, and why it happens.
Mat "MSN" Noguchi (aka shunji aka angryzenmaster) of Bungie has also started a LiveJournal blog, as has MS Novel Guy Eric Trautmann. As it turns out, both have RSS feeds, so we've added them to our news feeds page.
Hmm. Well, just like Durandal before her, it looks like Chelsea's getting a mite impatient with the cyborg brain's predilection towards gunplay over logical thought. But at least you enjoy the killing, right? It's all about the killing. Thanks Louis Wu at HBO.
Representatives from Microsoft, Bungie and Gearbox will participate in an IRC chat in the #CPL channel on October 29 at 5 PM PST to answer questions about Halo PC and the Winter Championship. Thanks to kappa in the HBO forum, via Louis Wu.
With only 3 of 28 prizes claimed so far, Louis Wu at HBO is admitting that it may be harder than anticipated... but it is still possible. Keep looking!
...but not quite yet. So far, Red vs Blue has only been nominated by the Academy of Machinima Arts and Sciences in six categories: Best Picture, Best Direction, Best Virtual Performance, Best Writing, Best Editing, and Best Independent Film. Thanks Louis.
Grenadiac and SourceGuy mentioned in the HBO forum that the next version of their Halo editor, SparkEdit, should be out soon, featuring source and destination editing for teleporters, weapon and powerup spawn point editing, rally waypoint editing, and many other new features.
After about a six-month downtime (we've all been there... well, all of us except Louis) Haloplayers has returned posting regular news as of the end of last week. "real" is still in URL, but gone from the design (when did that happen?). Anyway, put 'em back on your bookmark list.
