In reply to: So longThere's been no announcement about "right after Christmas"-- in fact, I think that's highly unlikely, and as always there is no official release date.
if the game's devlopment were to slip by only a few weeks or even a few months, I doubt we would have seen any announcement at all.
The fact that they've said "not until 2004" says to me that it won't be released early in January, or perhaps not early in the year.
Let's call it a safe bet-- I'm sure it will be out by then :)
having said that, I think the script is fuxored, and I'll try and fix it :)

Halo and the Bible
Okay, I'm a Buddhist, but I know a few things about Christianity and this came to me a few days ago. When God destroys the world by Flood (the flood on halo), he promises Noah that he'll never do that again by creating a Covenant (the covenant the humans are fighting). Maybe, the Forerunners created BOTH the Flood and the Covenant, but the Flood were created first. So when the Forerunners created teh Flood and realized they screwed up, they created the Covenant to hold them back from destroying other worlds, but then that messes with Halo's Final Weapon. I don't know, may Halo has some biblical references after all....

God's covenant was made to man, so the covies would then be on our side, right? And the flood was made to wipe out all the evil in the world, so it couldn't actually been evil itself, unlike the nasty flood in Halo.

I`m just gonna touch the surface of one example. Don`t wanna spend all my life writing about this =)
Bungie seem to love the french/english story about the holy grale (wich is linked to the whole Merlin/King Arthur storyline)..
Cortana is one of the few epic magical swords in this "mythology", and I bellieve Bungie have used simular swords as names for simular IA constructs in the Marathon game series..
The holy grale is very much connected to christianity, and therefore the bible as well.
What I`m trying to say is, that it wouldnt suprice me if there is a reason why they called "the flood", "the flood"..
I`m not even going to start to speculate about the significance of this, and if the earth might be "flooded" (again!?!) and the only survivers will be people (and other species?!?) escaping in spaceship called THE ARC..

In reply to: Wait what?I wasn't implying that God himself created the Flood and Covenant. I was implying that there was a relation to the story of Noah's Arc to the Flood/Covenant in Halo. Forerunner=God, Covenant to Noah=Covenant against humans, Flood destroying Earth=Flood in Halo. Therefore, the Flood were created by the Forerunner and the Covenant were created to wipe them out, but then again as I said before, Halo's weaponw would have to have some play in it....

im sure it's an honest mistake...or mayb not..mayb they did name the covenant and flood after biblical stuff...but i wouldn't know because i never read the bible or went to CCD...if u really wanna get to the bottom of it...then just email bungie studios or send through mail...then post the answr on here for evryone that is interested to see if they did name the covenant and flood after biblical stuff

here´s what i think, as halo doesm´t kill al life, it only kill,s sentient life the floos have a strong possibility of being alive, and since the flood werent suposed to kill all sentient life, there is no biblical reference, except the names, halo is the one suposed to kill alll sentient life, which I think it was made for a case where the flood escaped from their insecting lab or area(halo) they would find a way to stop them
