Ofcourse he started to run, but didn't get far, because a checkpoint stopped him, and he froze! he just stood there! you could throw plasma grenades at him, but they just stuck and didn't explode! when I shot at him, he just bled and nothing else, and my marine pals didn't notice him!

Try emptying a few needler clips on him, as well as a couple grenades, then walk back through the loading zone. The explosion when the grunt "unfreezes" can be pretty spectacular.
Some guys got a marine to fly all around the underground chamber in AotCR that way, and got a film of it--- it's somewhere over in HBO's collection.

Go to TB in co-op mode. When you set off the pulse generators and all the enemys appear, have the second player warp the one who hit the generator out. The hall will be filled will enemies that cant be hurt and you can shoot, jump around on and whatever. But if you go back too far to the warp point at the other end of the hall they will all unfrezze so watch it if you are hoping around

The plasma...um....thingy is too small to see from the other side of the ring. It'd be like shooting the New Year's eve ball into space. Even if you got rid of all the clouds and any distortion our atmosphere provides, you're still not gonna see it hit the moon.
It's just too far away.

You're right the pulse is maybe the size of 10 warthogs and there's no way you'll see that anywhere close to the other side. You couldn't even see the Pillar of Autumn on the other side and that things huge.

In reply to: Re: You sure? Yeah sure I amActually, one of the earliest things known about the Halo-- back in 1999 or so-- was that it sits at one of the LaGrange points between the planet and its moon (Threshold and Basis)-- points where gravity attracts equally in all directions.
Hence it doesn't need any stationkeeping engines.

Matbe they weren't, the covies use Plasma weapons too (wraiths for example...) so it shouldn't be too hard to make large scale versions on the ships that could pund the PA

FYI, There are 2 books: Halo: Fall of Reach, and Halo: The Flood.
FoR is a prequel to the game; "The Flood" is a novelization of what happens during the game.

There is no planet at the center of Halo-- Earth or otherwise.
The Halo ring in the original game orbited around the L3 LaGrange point between the planet Threshold and its moon, Basis. Halo itself, while quite large, is much too small in diameter to ring an entire planet or a sun (as Larry Niven's Ringworld did, for instance-- hence the reason why that author recently referred to Halo as "a poor man's Ringworld").

Well, for a start, Keyes made a blind jump *away* from Earth, so he could lead the Covenant *away* from Earth. If he lead them *to* earth, he would be a s good as dead on earth or on his ship.
Besides, if a planet was in the centre of Halo, you would see it in the centre, from anywhere on Halo. but it is slightly to the left/right, depending where you look at it from.

Have u been sniffing too much plasma? Watch the first movie and you see them coming out of a BLIND JUMP AWAY FROM EARTH so the covt wouldnt find it, orbit a PINK planet, the ring ORBITS the planet, and in the final movie halo BLOWS TO BITS and destroys EVERYTHING except for the longsword fighter the master chief's in, so there would be no cov forces and ships left to assalt earth and therefor no reason for the Halo2 trailer they first released. Do you pay ANY ATTENTION TO THE MOVIES AND INFORMATION GIVEN TO U???

In reply to: Re: revenge of us! were nerds!ok, i was very board 1 day, and i found some thing, at the beginning of Assault on the control room, when the MC gets out of the drop ship, it will say 'push X to get in side seat of pelican' quickly tap X to get back in, you will ride down in to a puke green fog and the drop ship will disapear and you will fall to your death, now, when i tried to do this in coop on hard level difficulty, i pushed X on one of the controlers 1 too many times, so there was one player in the drop ship, and one player going to die. after the player died, the drop ship hit 1 of those spinning rings, the @nd player respawned on the ring. this is neat couse you dont have to jump to miss the gaps if your running in the opposite direction, you do if your standing till. and, you can get on 1 of the five slates sticking out, and run around , why would you run around this place? becouse were all board and waiting for Halo 2, witch, is gonna be GREAT!

The Covenant cruiser, T&R, doesn't appear in the opening cinematic for the game, nor in the cinematic for the level "Halo"... I think if you're suggesting the blue beams in the level "Halo" are some kind of anti-aircraft weapon, then you're barking up the wrong tree :)
Sure, they may graphically resemble each other-- the bolts from Covenant ships hitting the Pillar of Autumn-- but most likely only because they were created by the same artists, and happen to be the same color. I doubt there's anything significant about the similarity.

No if you think about where the POA was in relation to HALO the plasma things arent shooting anywhere near it. The only shoot straight up. They would have to shoot at an angle.

In reply to: Level 2: "Halo"I have a feeling the purpose of the plasma emiters will be reaveled in Halo 2 If you are correct about the beam missing Halo maybe its somesort of emmiter that goes back and forth between a second ring see my theroy about Halos final weapon is it uses multiple Halos placed in stratigic locations throughout the galaxy alowing the "final weapon" to be used...but we might never know........

Heres what I think it is
In reply to: Level 2: "Halo"Okay think back to the first level, remember the final cutscene where huge plasma beams were hitting the side of the Pillar of Autmn? Those look EXACTLY what the beams on the level "Halo" from the giant structures look like. So what I think is that there are beams on the outside part of Halo (to fire at incoming forces) and some on the inside side of the ring (to fire at forces that have landed on the ring) So what I think is that those cannons are firing at the Pillar of Autmn which landed on the other side of the ring and that is why on the last level, all you see is a wasteland as a result of those cannons constantly hitting in that area.

There are three pulse generators and how many plasma towers do you see in the second level? That's right, three.
