The ammo belt. that is why halo #1 is my favorite, that belt makes M.S. look like a comando ready to fight and kill. plus it is so realistic.... In halo 2 and 3 were the hell dose he keep his ammo. may be in that side poket. thats bull. in halo 1 bungie wanted to make halo the most realistic combat game ever and they did that. but in halo one and two they lost something important. they lost the lust to make M.S more comando and tried to make him look like a thing in stead of a soldier wich is what the master chief has always been. this is why halo #1 is the best, plus the marines look F!!!! N cool.

I'm sure the Chief keeps his ammo in H2 and H3 in the same place he kept his secondary weapon in Halo 1.

So much for realism. I'm not sure what you mean by an "ammo belt" anyway-- care to point it out on a screenshot?

As for Bungie wanting to make Halo 1 the "most realistic combat game ever" I really rather doubt there is a single person at Bungie who would agree with that. There is nothing realistic about faster than light space travel, recharging personal energy shields, or armored hulks composed of colonies of worms.

Tom Clancy doesn't work for Bungie.

This was really hard for me to decide on... (Excluding H2, by far)

In the end, I chose H3 because I get to
destroy the irritating lightbulb. And fire a *tactical* weapon of mass destruction.
:D

Also, because Spark has some amazing lines with IWHBYD on. (Namely, after being attacked, "That hurt my feelings. I have feelings? I'M A REAL BOY!"

I love Halo because of the plot, not necessarily because of realism or gameplay. However, it's the gameplay that determines how good a game is, along with AI, level structure, and so one and so forth. And from that standpoint, I think Halo 2 outstrips both 1 and 3 drastically.

Halo 3. It's got the breadth-and-scope of the first game with all the play refinements of the second, polished together into a whole that's greater than the two earlier titles.

That's not to say I don't have quibbles with 3 (I actually would've liked the cinematics to carry more of the story-telling load and fill in more blanks; the unevenness of Truth's character felt like it needed more exposition or a rewrite; that egregious "To war" line *shudder*; and a few more) but the good far outweighs the bad.

-- Steve does honestly think it's the best of the series, markedly superior to both predecessors overall.

All the halo games are amazing but as the multiplayer keeps most people occupied much longer than the campaign and halo 2 has the best multiplayer maps I'd say Halo 2 is the best. Might all change with DLC

It really is a tough call between 1 and 3. I didn't care for how you switched back and forth between the Arbiter and Master Chief in 2, and I love Halo 3 for finally finding out the end of this story arc if for nothing else. Plus the way 3 has some references to 1 with different things that happen in the game. On the other hand though, there are so many good memories of all-night Halo 1 LAN parties. I like Xbox Live, but there's just something special about smack-talking someone you know and they can't mute you because you're either in the same room or one room over from them. Very tough call.

i think its between 1 and 3. even though all the halo games are AWESOME, these two were slightly better. and out of the two, it think 3 wins, because, i think what makes the game game so great is the story line. and 1 and 2 had awesome story lines, 3 had something special. my favortite part was when the chief saved cortana, and sh said, "Just, keep your head down, theres two of us in here now, remember." my favourite characters are the chief, cortana and johnson. because they all were in it from the very first halo, all of them were key characters, and they all had something special to ad to the game. and, to a lesser extant, they all had the best lines, like, on halo 2, (johnson)"Simple, we regret being alian basterds, we regret coming to earth, and we most definatly regret that the core just blew up our raggedy ass fleet!" and on herioc #2, (johnson) "Count your self lucky marine, in my day all we got was a stick. a stick and a rock. and we had to share the rock." and on #2, (Hood) Master chief? you mind telling me what your doing on that ship?" (Chief) "Sir, finishing this fight." but 3 went deeper than the other two, went further into the characters personalites, and thats what made 3 special. the characters.

First one.
It was so extremely simple. Halo 2 doubled needless crap. Three dumbed it back down and attempted a refined original. If they simply added more maps and maybe a new gun or two onto Halo 1, I would have been much more pleased. Plus, on three, I wish you didn't have to wait til the end of the credits to see the part of the ending that actually makes it all add up. With the way it ends there, they open the door for a fourth lol.

In reply to: Re: Which is your favorite Halo game?

why did halo 2 double "needless crap"? i found it was the best of the three, because it carried xbox live on its shoulders with the countless hours and people registered to xbox live BECAUSE of halo 2. halo 3 doubled needless crap, it brought back a shi*ty gun (SMG) and made master chief start with an assault rifle. why? who knows. anyways, besides its revamped graphics, use of the item system (which is amazing IMO and the best part about it), a few extra guns, its really not different from halo 2. if bungie remade halo 2 with the items, i would say thank you.

guy above. i dont think the smg is shity, and i dont think any of the games doubles on needless crap.

Good point on the all night LAN parties. I remember setting up parties with 4-6 XBOXs and 20-30 friends over to play Halo. We would play for hours on end!!! No one really wants to do this as much with H3...

Two simple words.

Scoped Pistol.

I think we all know what really makes a Halo.

-Mercy, Tru7h, Regret

P.S.
"Frog Blast The Vent Core"

In reply to: Re: Which is your favorite Halo game?

I'm glad that's not what makes Halo anymore.

The pistol was great for campaign. In multi.. not so much, at least not for me.

Besides, who puts a scope on a pistol anyway?

I like all of the titles. However if I had 4 hours to kill grunts, then the dead ones would be on H3. All of the titles have their own flavor, however, H3 is refreshing, has an interssting story and completes what started so many years ago for all of us. Achievement and skulls add fun as well.

Halo 3 is it...
