Blam in Halo
An interesting observation at Marathon's Story today, concerning Bungie's continuing use of the word BLAM! in Halo. Death alert, scripted event, random motivational message? You decide.

At risk of being tabloidishly (that isn't a word, but it will do) concerned with the comings and goings of someone, Freewill pointed out that Myth community leader Butcher is likely bound for Bungie West, based on a few comments made by Alex Okita. Best of luck in San Jose, Butcher!
Next week, webcam pictures that reveal the sordid details of Bungie East's weekly milk delivery , and we blow the lid off the bat boy scandal. Stay tuned. ;)
Two tidbits for your consideration. First off, Red Hot Ryan is polling for interest in a dedicated Marathon 2 source code page, so if you're among those deciphering the code and wanting a more concentrated source of information, let him know:
Chris Butcher (aka Butcher) has posted in our forum that he's moving on to bigger and better things. Much bigger and better things... Somewhere in the Heavens? ;-)
CaptShazbot posts word of a most anticipated game poll at Shugashack.com, and you guessed it, Halo is among the offerings.
More specifically, Halo is the second place offering, barely beating out Duke Nukem Forever and being whomped on by Team Fortress 2. Brings tears to my eyes... but the poll isn't over yet. Go forth, poll smashers, and edumucate the heathens!
Freewill (Miguel Chavez) passed us some more information on the video material he recorded while at MWSF. We're trying to get our file hosting situation straightened out, so in the mean-time we're linking to the download area at Halo.Bungie.Org. To download the material, Mac users will want to option-click the links and PC users will want to right-click and then select Save target as from their menu.
Luxor from the Vault Network let us know about their new site, Halo Vault. Be sure to check it out. (YAHS = Yet Another Halo Site )
Freewill, a long-time Bungie fan who has been present at a number of Bungie-related events and booths, has prepared a good amount of video material from Mac World Expo, San Francisco. You can download it at Halo.BOrg, currently.
Those of you who have been participating in our forum within the last week are probably aware of the recent bit of comparison between Tribes, Tribes 2 and Halo. The website Evil Avatar recently cornered Tim Gift of Dynamix and performed a short interview with him about the similarities and differences between Tribes 2 and Halo. If the article scrolls off the news page, you can probably still catch the same interview material in their forum.
