Well, I downloaded the footage myself... Deus had cut out the Oni material in order to reduce it to a relatively managable 74 megabytes. The movie includes a little bit of game playing, but is 90% or more material from the Gathering of Fans at Club-I last week.Unfortunately, the audio isn't the greatest as a result of the ambient noise that was there during the fanfest.
Some folk who were around to see Bungie's first Halo page might recall some of the cryptic, random messages that appeared there. While they recieved a great deal of attention back then, they have been largely forgotten since.
Sick of bTV news yet? Panamon has posted word that he has extracted the Halo footage from the bTV day 4 movie, and posted it on CPHL. Quality is still no better than the 300 meg full movie, but the size is certainly a bit more managable.
And once you have it, the forum is doing brisk business dissecting it, from falling damage to the road-cone alien... get your thoughts in while the getting's good.
Bungie is supplying a group photo from the MWSF Gathering of Fans, which was held at Club-I last week. Everyone we've heard from described it as a great experience, thanks to Bungie's and Freewill's efforts. We look forward to more such get-togethers.
According to a post in ye olde forum, Bungie's Joseph Staten might have some bTV Day One footage for us tomorrow, contrary to beliefs that it might never see the light of day. Something to watch for on the morrow, so keep an eye on that archive page.
Responding to a inquiry posted by Kel, Bungie's Matt Soell had this to say about say about the enigmatic #2:
Argh. Argh. Argh. :-)I don't think so, but you know how it is.
We've still got plenty of time. Relax.
Sound advice, though it probably won't be long before someone plans a raid on Bungie HQ. Something to look forward to, at least.
Several fans are reporting that the bTV archive now includes the footage from Bungie's fourth day at MWSF. Bungie's web servers must be hammered with a ton of requests right now, because I can't even view the site. Guess we HPBs will have to wait our turn. ;-)
