New Oni Desktop Image
Pallor posted a message in the Community forum informing us that Tycho and Gabe of Penny Arcade fame have created a new Oni desktop image.
It's available in 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768 and can be grabbed from GameSpy.

If you're still not sure what to think about Oni, you can check out three more reviews from HappyPuppy (thanks, Cody Miller), Stomped and Game Over. If you've been reading earlier reviews, though, you won't see much that's new; same praise, same complaints, same mixed-but-positive-overall opinions.
CGO Gives Oni 3.5 Out of 5 Stars
Another mixed but mostly positive review comes to us from Computer Games Online, citing the same limitations. However, in this one the author recognizes that there is at least some capability to alter Oni's interface, even if he feels this should have been an in-game option.
Oni In-Store Video Available
Kudos to Majic, who attained a copy of the in-store footage that is being supplied for Oni advertisers. Ever step into Electronics Boutique and see the latest games shown on television? This is what we're talking about, but for Oni!
HaloNetwork.de Gets a Facelift
The German Halo site, HaloNetwork.de has been updated with a goodly bit of new information. If you're a German-speaking Halo enthusiast on either side of the pond, then this would be a good site to turn your browser to. We're a little bit later than the other sites in reporting this because I wanted to take a better look, and as HBO reported there were some difficulties that have now been cleared up.
HBO's New Halo Update Database
About a month ago in private discussion R.net proposed a sharing of Bungie's updates to a number of other sites, and it looks like HBO is the first to do something about it. They've launched a Halo update database that includes all of the weekly updates in searchable format. Yet another good resource for Halo enthusiasts.
Community stuff: BGH and Halo Center Hiring
BGH reports that they are hiring, and have launched a jobs page with the expectation that they will be expanding. GameSpy has already had haloplanet.com forward to BGH's page.
Halo Center also posted that they were hiring a day or two ago. And today they announce that their page's menu organization has undergone some alterations.
No Halo in the 'Bowl
Lophan posted to our community forum that the terribly cool AdCritic site has listed the companies that are expected to be advertisers in SuperBowl XXXV... and Microsoft is currently not one of them. That means no X-Box and no Halo in between the plays. Bummer.
Oni Press: Oni Reviewed by the New York Times
The NYT published a mostly glowing Oni review (free login required), titled A Feel of Hand-to-Hand Combat , today in section G, page 9. Major thanks to Cataclysm for giving us the heads-up on that. Take a look at a couple of quotes:
