MacGamer quickly spotted an update at Apple's Game Site. Apple launched the site to show its dedication to games on the Mac some while ago. Brad Cook has just authored a feature on Oni that is available at the site. It discusses the base of Oni's plot, examines its influences, and includes a few quotes from developers of the game, including lead designer Hardy LeBel.
The Corporation is a gaming site that began with some fairly well-known Mythers sometime last year. The Corporation covers more than simply Bungie games though, as you can read all sorts of gaming goodness while you're visiting.
Part of being a gaming site requires you to review games, so Mr. Galt has reviewed Oni. He definitely enjoyed it:
Picked this tidbit up at Ars Technica, who report that Nvidia's XGPU and MCPX chips, the dual hearts of the XBox, are out of the lab and into fabrication. With some luck, this may mean that the demonstrations at Gamestock will be running on actual XBox hardware, or a development version thereof. And if not Gamestock, E3 looms larger every day...
Kudos to ax, who pointed out a GameSpot report that Halo will be among the games demonstrated at Gamestock on March 12th. The relevant blurb for your reading pleasure:
I've just gotten back from a short Valentine's Day vacation away from it all in Wendover (a.k.a. Bendover ) on the border 'tween Utah and Nevada. I was killing time at a magazine stand whilst my wife was expending vast quantities of my money at the craps table and, lo and behold, came upon an item about Oni! Seems a bit late to do an Oni preview now, but GamePro included one in its February 2001 issue. At least they're somewhat enthused about it. Take a look.
Although I can not figure out the PC Data website for the life of me, Char assures us that Oni is currently one of the top selling console games. Here's the 10 list:
A new Marathon: Infinity scenario has been released. Return To Marathon will indeed return you to Marathon:
Kudos to Darksbane for pointing out and David Bricker for transcribing a brief mention of Oni in a recent issue of Newsweek. Das blurb:
wod'asini has completed Charlie's Point, a tagset is for Myth II that features 18 new units based on the Vietnam War. Check out the Charlie's Point website and you'll find oodles of screenshots as well as unit descriptions. Charlie's Point is in queue at The Mill and will be available as soon as the site has updated.
