TeamXbox's new FAQ is so cool it gets its own server: http://faq.teamxbox.com/. It covers questions about where to buy an Xbox, about the hardware and the games.
Despite minor complaints about framerate issues, and the lack of bots, GS liked Halo plenty. Interesting, in fact, that most of the other reviews haven't carped about the missing bots that much.
But aside from that, the review gushes from the get-go and doesn't stop:
HBO's own Louis Wu has posted that IGN's Halo review is out-- although most of us won't be able to see it for awhile. It's at IGN and is Insider Only at the moment.
If you thought that PlanetXbox was drooling over the graphic detail in Halo, think again; epic science fiction isn't apparently really their bag. Today they've reviewed Dead Or Alive 3, and here's what they have to say:
BattleGround: Halo's SonicStorm is reporting that VoodooExtreme has posted their review of Halo, rating it a 95 out of 100. In short, they loved it:
Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PlayStation 2 will compete on even terms this holiday season; at least in terms of price.
Byron Hinson at ActiveXbox is reporting that Red Octane, a company that rents consoles and console games, is now accepting rental requests for the Xbox and most Xbox launch titles, which will be available for $6.95 per week.
Red Octane will also give away an Xbox system this month; you can sign up for that on their web page.
As part of their Xbox coverage this week, which included reviews of Halo, DoA3, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee,
Shockwave at TeamXbox has posted a complete review of Halo. Par for the course, he was impressed by the game, especially the graphics:
Mr. Bunny posted in the HBO forum that Halo was mentioned in stories covering the upcoming console wars this holiday season, both in the Washtech section of the Washington Post and the New York Times (registration required).
xbox.ign.com is reporting that the final, official list of launch titles for the Xbox has now been released. Most of it will come as a surprise to no one: there will be five first party titles available on launch day: Halo, Oddworld, NFL Fever 2002, Project Gotham Racing and Fuzion Frenzy. In addition, there will be fourteen third party titles, including DoA3, Madden NFL 2000, NHL Hitz 20-02, and Shrek. Some of these are already available in some stores.
SeventhColumn.org has updated and now displays a large 6 . This looks like it could be a countdown to the release of the Xbox, which will be released on November 15 (Actually 7 days from today. Hmm...). Also notice that the main site redirects you to http://www.seventhcolumn.org/blam.pl?file=/soon.htm. Nice, guys. (Thanks mad.max)
CG Online has a short interview with Jason Jones, original cofounder of Bungie Software Products Corporation subsequently sold to Microsoft and transmogrified into Bungie Studios, developers of Halo for the Xbox. They asked point blank if Halo would still come to the PC, to which Jones replied point blank, yes .
