Well, now that the fateful day has come, there are a scant handful hours before the release of the Halo 2 Trailer. Exactly when and where? No one has yet said. Xbox.com seems a good bet, as they were the first site to put up a countdown. Bungie.net also seems like a likely candidate.
As for exactly when, Matt Soell dropped a trail of breadcrumbs for the faithful over in the HBO forum:

Newly recruited Bungie.net reporter Mnemesis has written up a report in the HBO forum from the HNC Finals... where the Halo 2 Trailer was shown.
While the trailer itself has been written about numerous times already, he does add a few impressions of his own:
Elan Sleazbagano posted a silly trick in the HBO forum. Done on the level Halo, you can make the passenger and gunner in the Warthog scream like they're falling despite the fact that they are just driving around. Brian Josselyn was quick to get a video of the glitch.
Blackstar Productions has come out with a new video. This one's an advertisement for Halo and Xbox Live featuring Stephen Hawking. We've added Mr. Hawking to our Halo Movies section as well.
Team Overkill, a talented Halo-abusing team, has released a new video called Causing A Ruckus. Some charming antics in it - worth watching. We've mirrored it.
Cino posted in the HBO forum that a Bungie representative showed up there and showed the Halo 2 trailer. And guess what? It turned out to be true, as Matt Soell confirmed:

HBO is back, and in one of the first news posts of the day Louis Wu drops an interesting tidbit:
Hopefully, DNS will propagate fast enough that by the time the Halo 2 trailer is released, folks can find us.
If one were so inclined, one might be led to believe that means that shortly after the time it usually takes for a DNS record to update-- usually 2-3 days, tops-- the trailer will be out.
We're mirroring two of the four Making Of Halo videos that were recently posted at HBO; the one featuring Alex Seropian and Hamilton Chu, and the one featuring Steve Abeyta and Shikai Wang.
Matt Soell dropped us a message to let us know that Rob McLees was also one of commentators on the Evolution of Halo video. Rampancy apologizes for the omission.
From Louis Wu at HBO comes word that Bungie fan Deanero captured a special presentation of a 13 minute movie by Bungie entitled Evolution of Halo , which we've now mirrored here and at RHL. It was shown at the E3 Fanfest last month, and includes commentary from Bungie employees Shikai Wang, Marty O'Donnell and Paul Russell.
We've just added the recently captured QT5 version (4 Mb, 480x360) of the television commercial for Halo that's been airing in the Canadian market this spring and was captured by Bill and Bob Maguire. Thanks to Louis Wu at HBO for the notice.
The movie collections of RHL and the rampancy.net website have been merged. This saves us some disk space, allowing us to host more movies, as well as gives users the opportunity to view or download movies either via hotline or http, whichever they prefer.
