The poll on the left that says, "Is a CG trailer for Halo 3 a good idea?", is misinformed. The trailer for halo 3 isn't "CG". That was made using the Halo 3 game engine, in real-time. Don't believe me, wach this video clip
The poll item is not in reference to the Announcement Trailer, which was performed in real-time using the Halo 3 engine at E3 this year.
It is in reference to the announced CG being currently produced by Digital Domain and to be aired on television during Monday Night Football this coming December and thereafter available for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. It was announced earlier this week. There is a news item referring to this announcement on our front page (as well as the front page of just about every other Halo and Xbox gaming site in the universe).
You don't need to tell me what Bungie has and hasn't done with their graphics engines in realtime. We've seen it since 1999. I'm just in favor of them continuing to do it, rather than turning their models over to outsourcers generating "photorealistic" graphics for promotional purposes.
