This sunset behind the City really shows off the new engine's lighting effects.
This in-engine shot, apparently of a crashed or disabled human craft, would not look at all out of place in Halo; the design looks very much in the same vein as the Forward Unto Dawn.
This looks like an in-game shot, but it's hard to identify some of the objects in the distance. The blue glowing might be engine exhaust from a crashed ship, or perhaps a structure on fire.
Probably the only time you see an actual reticle on-screen. The player seems to be in a rocky, underground location, using a scoped weapon.

-- Joe Staten, Cinematic Director
Another apparent in-game shot showing off vegetation and lighting effects.
This heavily forested scene would not look at all out of place in Oblivion or Skyrim. In the foreground a Guardian advances on the abandoned tower.
Another shot that appears to be in-engine, showing off some neat ray of light effects.

"We're creating something completely new, and that's a scary place, but if it's not scary, then it isn't going to be good."
