Had a great time! It was thrilling to meet all of you. The one thing we as bungie/myth heads have that NO OTHER gamefans have is COMMUNITY. We rock! We are a force to be reckoned with, and Quake and Unreal have nothing, I mean, NOTHING on Myth and the kind of players it draws.Extra double thanks to the folks at Bungie who stopped by and answered questions by both me and the folks at the event. They were all very gracious and I think they get the hint that this should be an ongoing thing :)

Kudos to SiliconDream for reporting a lot of fascinating, new information that Bungie put out at the Gathering of Fans. Among the various tidbits is the current plot for Halo.

Yesterday's bTV broadcast was a little difficult to make out for many of use who viewed it live, and Bungie apologizes that the archived copy won't be available until a later date. However, Bungie did promise higher-bandwidth streaming from now on for those of us who have something better than 56K dialup connections. Black Sam and Xzzy report that Bungie is promising, both in the broadcast and at last night's Gathering of Fans, Halo beta-testing positions for people who perform crazy stunts at MWSF. Gotta love it. ;-)Inside Mac Games does have a nice summary of the broadcast available. A little off-topic for this post, IMG also relates that the Oni home page has received a face lift and some new images, and that Oni may not be released until the end of 2000 now. While that may be a little disappointing, I think that many of us would rather that release dates take a back seat to quality anyway. Steve Jobs' keynote address has come and gone. Nothing quite so earth-shattering as what we saw at MWNY six months ago. Jobs has shortened his title from Interim CEO to just CEO (We congratulate him... it did seem inevitable with Apple's continued success in various areas) and announced that MacOS X will tentatively be coming out by Summer of 2000.As Marathon's Story and HBO have reported, it looks like Matt Soell and Alex Seropian have switched places in the bTV schedule. We'll be seeing The Man Alex within the next few hours, and then Matt with Friday's broadcast.
