Posted first by Dink at HBO, Daily Radar reports that Mark Rein of Epic was caught making some boastful statements about the next product they plan to work on:
The MGO Network site Halo Center is back online, having experienced some technical server-related difficulties for a few days. We almost thought that the rampant A.I. here got restless and decided to kick them around a little, but all is well and they're back in business. Welcome back, guys.
Kudos to Infininight, who sends word of Oni and Halo appearing on Gamespot TV. As many folk who watch ZDtv have reported, Halo and Oni are not strangers to the small screen, but it's nice to see them getting some spontaneous coverage. Some info from the report:
It talked about both Oni and Halo. From the website:Oni, a title being simultaneously developed for all new platforms, also features a large free environment. Great graphics and inventive fighting techniques give players a variety of gameplay.
The All Games Network is a site that supplies Internet TV for gamers. They were in attendance at E3 and it looks like they may have acquired some interesting material. I already reported their coverage of Oni gameplay (Look for Bungie towards the top) but I've found a few other items.
On a tip (I can already hear some of you saying, Yeeeah, right! ) I stopped by the Playboy website and verified that they had some E3 coverage. I suppose that's not to be unexpected, since several playmates attended the event. Anyway there was an item on Halo, which was considered one of the sexiest games of the event by many a geek. Here's what they had to say:
Here's a list of the current Halo-related polls we're aware of. The poll at Rust (gamedesign.net) continues to go well, with Halo keeping triple the votes of the second contender, WarCraft III. At MadOnion.Com we're kicking butt with 32% against Unreal 2's 20%. 3D Action Planet's poll continues with Halo receiving roughly 60% more votes than Tribes 2, the only other real contender at the present time.
Long live CPHL!
One of the longest surviving establishments in the Myth community went offline a few moments ago, with no promises that it will return. Graciously hosted by Kodiak for almost the past year, CPHL was both a much loved gathering place and a flashpoint for conflicts in the community. However, with Kodiak graduating and moving on, the Hotline server has lost it's host (at least, for the summer). In the interests of history, the last words:
As seen on the Oni Central forum, Bungie's Matt Soell responds to the question of whether a post-release patch or third-party hack could add multiplayer to Oni:
