Enthusiasm Springs Eternal: IGN Previews Halo
Forget about what machines Halo's coming out on, when it will come out, and who owns who. Some people are still-- more than a year after it was first unveiled-- licking their chops in anticipation of the gamer's gourmet meal that is to be Bungie's Halo. Meaning, that there's a new preview up at xbox.ign.com.

Halo Family Won't Play Nice
In a forum post over at Halo.bungie.org, community guy Matt Soell responded to a question about whether or not players of the X-Box and Mac/PC versions of Halo would be able to play network games together.

I just grabbed the newest copy of Maximum PC magazine today, and was pleasantly surprised to find an Oni review towards the back! Maximum PC reviews very few games, mainly because it focuses upon hardware... so those games tend to be at either extreme of the suck/kick-ass spectrum. Maximum PC gives Oni doubled nines for technology and gameplay scores. Here are some quotes:

Soell Says: EWB Full Of It
In a precisely worded forum post at Halo.bungie.org, Bungie community rep Matt Soell has referred to the claims of the demise of PC/Mac Halo-- centered mostly on reports of the cessation of online preorders at Electronic Boutique's web site-- a load of bollocks .
Follow-Up: Myth Story Teach-In
SiliconDream reports that the Myth Story chat went relatively well, with occasional disturbances by a few unruly members. Next time we may have another chat-nanny or two on hand to reduce distractions. David Bricker and Rolf have both provided copies of the chat, granting viewers a choice between plain text and HTML. OniRes - Something Aspiring Modmakers Should Know About
Some of you may not yet have been exposed to OniRes, a site devoted to hacking into Oni. (It's just amazing to see this sort of thing in full-swing weeks before the game even hits store shelves) Acrappa began OniRes only a short while ago, and then it was quickly snapped up by OBO for hosting.
GoD Games' Oni Site Fixed
We earlier noted that the GoD Games official Oni site, somewhat ripped from the Bungie site, had a number of glaring errors. Those have for the most part been corrected, we note. No references to multiplayer, blood in-game or the Iron Demon mecha. (Damn on the last one!) The special moves feature continues to count down to Oni hitting the shelves. It's a fun and informative resource for those of us who haven't had a chance to play yet.
EB World Claims Halo Will Be X-Box Only?
Voodoo Extreme is reporting that EB World has stopped taking Halo preorders because... get this... it has been cancelled for the PC and Mac? Merkinjata was the first to inform us about Voodoo Extreme's news item:
