More Halo Multiplayer Coverage From GameSpot
As noticed by Louis Wu at HBO, there's another GameSpotting article about Halo, this one focusing on multiplayer. The game's been quite popular in their offices:
Everyone fought for control of the warthog jeeps. Since no one was allied with anyone else, the machine gun turret on the back went completely to waste, as we all simply tried to run each other over. Sometimes two warthog drivers would begin running into each other like a miniature demolition derby. Whoever got flipped would then get run over, adding injury to insult.

Halo Launch Party Coverage
HBO has launched its Halo Launch Party page. There isn't much information up yet since the party started less than an hour ago, but keep an eye out for updates.

Kudos to HBO for noticing GameSpot has added a Halo video review. It's 82 MB large and is available in MPG and WMP format. Alternatively, you can stream the video in Windows Media or Real Player format.
More On Myth III And Nimda
The Myrgard Times has been covering the Myth III/nimda issue fairly well and Drunkbob has noted some important information:
Two very important notes about this whole virus thing: First off, do not run the uninstaller, this is apparently how the virus is primarily activated. Secondly, the Myth III demo is also infected.
Also, Rohan wrote a post at MWA guiding users how to rid of the virus. This should be a fine solution, but there will likely need to be some action taken by Take2 or Mumbo Jumbo.
Poll At GameSpot
There's a poll at GameSpot, asking in light of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 coming to the PC, which of these other high-profile console games would you most like to see brought to the PC? Of course, Halo is an option. Halo is currently winning with 30% of the votes (nearly 2000).
Nimda Virus Perhaps An Install Shield Issue
ax sent us a link to the installshield.is6.general newsgroup, which is currently discussing the nimda virus. Apparently, this may not be an issue limited to the Myth III CD because it is likely an issue with Install Shield. Rick Lowe writes:
I just found it tonight.
We run NAV CE 7.51
W32.nimda.enc(dr) found on ikernel.ex_
Wonder if this is due to a bug in the latest virus def update?
A few months ago after an update, NAV found a virus on bat files.
Even ones on the NT Resource kit CD.
The next update which they put out quickly fixed this problem.
Hopefully this is what we have here.
ikernel.ex_ is the infected file, which is on the Myth III CD as well as in the Installer Shield files.
Spoiler-Free Myth III Manual Excerpts At MBO
Forrest at Myth.bungie.org is reporting that Zandervix has posted some portions of the Myth III manual in their Asylum. If, like Forrest, you're on a Macintosh and haven't had any opportunity to play Myth III yet, this might be the only way to get your fix right now.
GameSpot Reviews Myth III
GameSpot has reviewed Myth III and gave it a positive 8.4 out of 10 rating. Overall, they were impressed, but the scores were affected by bugs and missing features:
Myth III's major shortcomings are its lack of new multiplayer content and a number of technical issues. Mumbo Jumbo is preparing a patch to resolve the significant outstanding issues and plans to release its map-making tools, which should allow the community to convert popular existing third-party maps and mods, like the World War II mod, and make entirely new ones. But many of the planned multiplayer features, such as new game types and the ability to play different tribes of units against each other, have been dropped entirely.
