Weapons and Encounter Times

narcogen's picture

Halo 2's weapons, compared to Halo 1's and perhaps compared to other shooters, work or combine in such a way that the average time of any given encounter is greatly reduced. This makes any latency you are experiencing a greater percentage of the total encounter time than it would be if it took longer to get a kill, and places a lagged player with dual SMGs going up against a player also with dual SMGs is at a greater disadvantage than if both players had single SMGs.

Wraith Boost Jumping on Headlong

On Headlong, put a wraith on the map and give every one an overshield. It is best if you modify an existing game type and have everyone start with overshields. Then go to the area where you can get a Banshee, look at the building and turn right, go staight, then to the middle section of the lower wall. Have one player go with their back straight up against the wall, and have another player in the wraith go as far back against the wall across from the other person.

Gun turrets usable after being destroyed

me and my cousin have found a new glitch. if you throw a grenade the right distance away from a machien gun turret, then the grenade will explode and destroy the turret but the rod in witch the turret was siting on will still be there. Go up to the rod and an imadinary useable turret will be there and you can still use it. (note that the if the grenade is to close then it won't work, also if the frenade is to far away then it won't destroy the turret). You have to get it just right, or it won't work.

Minotaur Box Art In Halo 2

I was playing some 1v1 Slayer on Foundation and decided to go look on the wall opposite the Monkey picture wall to see if anythign was there. I noticed part of it was blue, so I zoomed in. It kind of reminded me of something but what? After looking at it for awhile I came up with Minotaur (One of Bungie's older games) I been looking at their classic game's section for so long. I took one picture: [image:8886 center hspace=5 vspace=5 border=0] and then went online to look at the Minotaur boxart: [image:8888 center hspace=5 vspace=5 border=0]

Sword Flying

In multiplayer a variation of the Sword Flying technique exists, but it requires split-second timing and performing it consistently is difficult.

With the sword as your reserve weapon, take another weapon and find a target; a scoped weapon with a reticle that turns red when locked on a target in range, such as the rocket launcher, is preferable.

Then, switch to the sword and pull the trigger. If the switch and pull are timed correctly, you'll perform a lunge attack regardless of the distance between you and the target.

Zanzibar

The most-seen of the Halo 2 maps to date, Zanzibar is an asymmetrical map on a beach setting, perfect for games like Assault. The defending team has protective structures and walls, including a working gate, while the assaulting team starts on the beach with vehicles and must press through a choke point to reach the base. The large fan structure conceals a plasma sword that can be retrieved by a variety of methods (including rockets or grenades).
