Dave Georgeson of Dynamix made the following statement today in a thread at the Tribesplayers forums:

Warning: The Linux and Mac clients are going to be done AFTER we finish working on the PC version.

This does NOT mean that there will not be Linux and Mac clients. We actually want to do them a lot. We *will* work on them.

However, the PC version is the most important version for us and if time pressure causes issues, then the PC version will get the most attention.

It was first reported by HBO that E3Awards.com has posted up its list of nominees from this year's expo. From what I see, it looks like Halo got a lot of love. Here are the categories it was nominated for, along with its competition:

A story at Maccentral.com reminded us about the presence of a Halo trailer at Apple's web site. But before you get your hopes up, though, it's the old MWNY trailer from 1999 and not the new E3 trailer, which should be available for download as well as on a CD from a major gaming magazine later this summer.

Adobe Riskbreaker pointed out in a post on the forum at Halo.bungie.org that EBWorld now has an entry for Halo.

While I probably shouldn't be doing this, CyberBob pointed out an interesting URL that was posted by Jenkz at Haloplayers, which leads to an interesting discussion of the merits of Halo and even Bungiefen. A memorable quote:

In a post on the halo.bungie.org forum, Matt Soell has responded to Jester's... ahem... question regarding why gaming magazines seem to get the bulk of the revelations and other juicy tidbits about Halo and other Bungie games.

In reply to Jester's suggestion that Bungie split the content between mags and fansites 50/50, Matt speaketh thusly:

Our gratitude goes out to Fred, who supplied us with raw scans from the Halo item in Newsweek's May 29th issue, reported yesterday by HBO. We've got cleaned up copies of both the screen shot and the entire item for you. Note that Newsweek is erroneously claiming that Halo will be coming out for DreamCast.
