Well, with the community lacking a dedicated third party map distribution site, I guess we'll be doing a few more map announcements in coming days. This one is from Prozzak, and will likely be of interest to you WW2 junkies out there:
CyberBob pointed out something that will doubtless be of interest to Bungie point collectors out there: the Bungie Store is closing. At least, for a short time, effective this Friday. From the Bungie Store page:
Finally, the road cone alien revealed. Marathon's Story has obtained several scans from the July PCZone Benelux Halo developer diary showing what appears to be the small, orange alien seen briefly in the bTV day 4 footage from MWSF 2000. Whew.
It's a curious little critter, and apparently comes in a few varieties. While the large canister on the back of one just screams hand delivered explosives to me, we really know nothing else about these units... stay tuned for more info as it comes.
Chia, webmaster at Vista's website, has pointed out a half dozen new screenshots from the upcoming Jinn TC for Myth II. The shots feature indoor levels from this ambitious and long awaited project, and are simply gorgeous. The well done models are becoming a trademark of Vista (and the envy of us mere mortal tag munkies ;).
Jinn, which is due out before Oni , is currently in testing, but there have been rumors that the next post at Vista's site will be the big one. Definitely something to keep an eye out for.
Hamish Sinclair of the Marathon's Story page has announced the limited edition Marathon's Story T-Shirt. They will only be available for $7 at Mac World New York this coming July. If you want to reserve your shirt in advance, you can contact John Chang. Head on over to the MS page if you want more details. (NO, not Microsoft! ;-)
Continuing the trend begun with the posting of the HaloBungie.Com Spoof! site (temporarily removed because the bandwidth requirements were putting us in the poor house), a few more items have popped up:
Kudos to Bluskale, who pointed out a new note on the now closed Mill main page, regarding the future of the Myth map and file resource site:
The Mill will once again be back in running, however we regret not by the previously faithful Frigidman. Also, the site will most likely not be under the same URL as before.
Inspection of the source reveals no this is only a cruel joke lines, so I imagine we can expect to see a successor to the Mill at some point in weeks and months ahead.
It's looking like this year's Mac World Expo in New York is going to be somewhat watered down. Mac Central reports that the National Mac Gaming Championships are cancelled this year and it has been confirmed that Bungie will not have an exhibit. Many companies are complaining about the increasingly exorbitant prices for booth space at the Mac World Expos and are not planning to exhibit either.
D'n'A reported in HBO's forum about a new Halo preview in the Dutch gaming magazine PCZone Benelux. Among other things it talks about the Covenant monkey-like creature we briefly saw on bTV day three. It also includes some screen shots from the E3 movie, apparently.
